Kovsie ACT volunteer programme promotes leadership and skills development
The University of the Free State’s Kovsie ACT office is empowering student volunteers through leadership and skills development training. This initiative not only enhances their capabilities but also fosters a spirit of community service and sustainability.

This video demonstrates how different departments on campus are working together to fight hunger.
The versatile pilchards is a key ingredient, paired with pasta, rice, and bread - all included in the food parcels distributed by NSH.
Plus, we serve a coleslaw made from fresh produce harvested in tunnels managed by the Department of Sustainable Food Systems and Development and Kovsie ACT.

Did you know that today is World Food Day? To date, the day – created in 1979, with the first events taking place in 1980 – is observed in more than 150 countries around the world. A Hungarian delegation headed by the former Hungarian Minister of Agriculture and Food initiated the idea of the establishment of World Food Day as an observance highlighting the importance of investments in agriculture.
