IMPORTANT NOTICE - STUDY VISAS

BLANKET CONCESSION TO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AFFECTED BY THE CURRENT STUDENT PROTESTS (IMMIGRATION DIRECTIVE NO. 25 OF 2016)

With this Directive a blanket administrative extension until 31 March 2017 is granted of all study visas which were issued to students for the purpose of studying at tertiary institutions in South Africa with an expiry date of or prior to 31 December 2016. The Department of Home Affairs has indicated that students needn’t apply for the extension.
With this being said, this is only for those students that were supposed to finish their studies in 2016, but still need to write a special exam in January 2017. If you are intending to go home for the festive season, this will however not be for you. Students that apply for this concession need to stay in South Africa or this concession will lapse. In the case that students will be going home and have to come back to write that last exam, students need to apply for a visitor’s visa for the day that they need to write exams.

Please note if students are continuing their studies in 2017, they will have to follow the normal renewal processes for their visas

PAYMENTS PRIOR TO REGISTRATION 2015
1. 2014 Account balances must be zero.

"2. Prepayments are due five (5) working days prior to registration. Students will not be able to register until these amounts
reflect as CREDITS on their tuition fee accounts. Should the tuition fees be less than the prepayment required, the full
amount is payable."

"3. Students studying with financial aid (bursary/loan): (SA students only)
3.1 If the financial aid covers only the prepayment amount, then the prepayment is payable five (5) working days prior to
registration. Students will not be able to register until these amounts reflect as CREDITS on their tuition fee accounts.
Should the tuition fees be less than the prepayment required, the full amount is payable.

3.2 If the financial aid covers expenses for the full academic year, the amount payable in advance will be reduced by the amount
of the financial aid.

3.3 Proof of the financial aid must be faxed to 051 401 3579 five (5) working days prior to registration. The ORIGINAL PROOF of
the bursary/loan must be presented upon registration."
