EXIT SUPPORT WORKSHOP & NETWORKING SESSION 2026

Motheo TVET College’s Thaba-Nchu Campus hosted an impactful Exit Support Workshop and Networking Session, themed “Be Informed! Be Empowered! Build Your Future!”

The session equipped exit-level students with valuable information on career pathways, further studies, occupational programmes, workplace opportunities, experiential learning, diploma applications, funding and bursary opportunities.

Students also had the opportunity to engage with various industry stakeholders and potential employers, creating meaningful connections between education and the world of work.

The College extends its appreciation to all presenters, stakeholders, host employers, staff and students who contributed to the success of the event.

The four-day national tournament provided student-athletes from across the country with an opportunity to demonstrate their sporting talent, discipline, teamwork and competitive spirit. Representing the Free State, our Motheo students contributed to a commendable 6th-place overall finish for the province with Position Volleyball position 4
Basketball female position 2
Soccer male position 2
Netball male position 3

Their participation at this prestigious national platform reflects the College’s continued commitment to holistic student development and the promotion of sport as an important component of student life.

Throughout the tournament, the Team Free State athletes demonstrated resilience, determination and sportsmanship, proudly carrying the name of the Free State and their respective institutions onto the national stage.

Motheo TVET College commends our students for their dedication and contribution to this achievement. Their participation is a testament to the talent within the TVET sector and the opportunities created through sport to develop confident, disciplined and well-rounded young people.

The CoSACSA National Ball Games have officially opened in Durban! Students arrived in numbers, bringing an exciting atmosphere and showcasing the true spirit of TVET sport.

Team Free State teams have brought their A-game, demonstrating talent, determination and teamwork. We wish all Team Free State athletes the very best as they represent the province with pride.

From the classroom to the world stage.

The WorldSkills Shanghai 2026 competition has officially started, with South Africa proudly represented in the Auto Body Repair skill by Motheo TVET College student, Mesuli Gxalaba, under the guidance of his coach, Vuyane Ndamane of Motheo TVET College.

This journey is a true reflection of what Occupational Programmes can achieve taking a student from classroom learning, practical training and workplace exposure all the way to competing on an international stage.

For young people across South Africa, this is proof that choosing a skill or trade can open doors far beyond the classroom or workshop. With dedication, discipline and the right training, your skill can take you anywhere in the world.

Dear Students, please note that the NSFAS 2027 applications are now open and Please take not of the important information regarding 2027 Applications

Applications Open: 18 September 2026
Applications Close: 31 October 2026

WHO SHOULD APPLY FOR 2027?

Students who are currently registered and are NOT funded by NSFAS in 2026 should apply for NSFAS funding for 2027.

WHO SHOULD NOT REAPPLY?

Students who are currently funded by NSFAS and receiving their allowances in 2026 should NOT reapply for 2027.
NSFAS will automatically migrate their funding to 2027, subject to the student meeting the relevant academic progression requirements (passing/progressing academically) and other applicable NSFAS funding criteria.

If you are already funded in 2026, there is no need to submit a new application for 2027.

Important: Students who are not funded in 2026 and require NSFAS funding for 2027 are encouraged to submit their applications before the closing date.
