Youth Day Celebration 2026

Our learners proudly joined the Youth Day celebrations at Mangaung Technical Vocational Centre, commemorating 50 years since the courageous Soweto learners stood up for their future and changed the course of our nation's history.

They marched with courage, determination, and the belief that young people have the power to make a difference.

Their legacy continues to inspire us today.
This special day was not only about remembering the past but also about empowering our learners to become active participants in shaping their own futures.

Learners had the opportunity to engage with various organisations, including EPWP, Motheo TVET College, NYDA, iDestiny, career coaches, and several skills development workshops.

These valuable interactions reminded our learners that life after school is filled with opportunities, growth, and endless possibilities.

We are grateful that our learners can access programmes and resources that will help prepare them for successful careers and bright futures.

Together, we continue to raise the bar, close the gaps, and leave no child behind.

The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow!

Motor Mech Competition Success!

We are incredibly proud of our learners who represented Dr. Böhmer School of Skills at the recent Motor Mech Competition!

Three schools participated: HTS Louis Botha, Heatherdale, and Dr. Böhmer. With a total of 8 participants competing, our learners delivered outstanding results by achieving:

What an incredible achievement! Your hard work, dedication, and passion have truly paid off.

Ons is ongelooflik trots op Dr. Böhmer se 1ste Netbalspan wat die Suid-Vrystaat LSEN-span gaan verteenwoordig het in 'n wedstryd teen Fakkel Skool van die Noord-Vrystaat.

​Alhoewel die telling hierdie keer nie in ons guns was nie, bring ons meisies die silwermedalje huis toe in die LSEN Vrystaat-liga! Wat 'n fantastiese prestasie!

We were delighted to see Boitumelo Maleke, a former learner of Dr. Böhmer School, thriving as a young entrepreneur and producing her own delicious homemade atchar.

Juffrou Andrea simply had to show her support and purchase some of Boitumelo's tasty atchar, which will now be used by our current Food Production learners when preparing KOTAs for Dr. B's Tuck Shop. 🐝

Boitumelo, we are incredibly proud of you for taking the skills you learned and turning them into a small business. Your hard work, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit are an inspiration to our learners.

Our learners had the opportunity to engage with exhibitors, ask questions, collect valuable information and discover the many study and career opportunities available after school.
