Happy Women’s Day to all the women in our Pontem community!

Getting there… slowly but surely. 🤍

So… last weekend a water pipe burst. I only discovered it on Monday after returning from holiday on Sunday.

My office, entrance hall, and reception area were completely flooded. Needless to say, we’ve fallen a little behind schedule.

Repairs to the affected areas will (hopefully!) start on Monday.

These aren’t the final photos—just a little sneak peek of what’s coming.

PS: Ryan is still not convinced that pink tools are professional… 🤣💗 But they work just fine! And Seb, as always, has been right in the middle of all the hard work. I couldn’t ask for a better little helper. ❤️

Lessons learnt today…

Turns out, building something from scratch is equal parts chaos, grit, and questionable DIY skills.

With him at work and me setting up a brand-new centre, determination had to do the heavy lifting.

Did I mutter a few choice words? Of course.

Did my glasses sliding down my nose ruin my drilling accuracy? Absolutely.

Did I laugh at myself? Repeatedly.

Did it take me two hours to build one table for the Pontem games room? Painfully, yes.

Am I now heading across the road to meet said man (finally free) for wine and pizza? Without hesitation.

Only one more table, two cupboards, and a beautiful sideboard to go.

Today was a reminder: ownership isn’t glamorous. It’s dusty, frustrating, and often far outside your comfort zone. But building something worthwhile means showing up and figuring it out—one screw at a time.

Slowly but surely, the new Pontem centre is coming together, and every challenge is worth it.
