Emelia Day Care Centre

Hi Everyone!
We are the new group of Medical students that have taken over the residency at Emelia. We hope to have as good an impact as the group of last year, and will hopefully be able to make some amazing changes.

Again we ask for everyone to open their hearts, and help us in any way that is possible. Donations in the form of money, nappies, food, toys, clothes, etc. will be greatly appreciated. Any businesses or people that would like to get involved, please don't hesitate to contact us. Any help would be incredible. We can't wait to make a change this year!

Hey guys, if any of you have old DVDs that you don't watch any more , the children really love movies and so it would be such a treat if we could get them some to watch while they sit at Emelia ! Please have a look and let us know !

Thank you to the physiotherapists and OTs who gave up their time to help and advise us this morning ! Their expertise were enlightening !

There are approximately 20 children in this centre, with multiple disabilites ranging from Autism to Cerebral Palsy. All of these children are from disadvantaged communities.

We are 9 medical students from the University of the Free State Medical School, who chose to help Emelia Day Care Centre not only financially, but also with the care of these children. We are the fifth group to adopt Emelia House for our community based education project. We will enlist the help of other health care professionals to ensure that the care of these children is approached holistically.

We're here to make them smile.
