Forget personality tests. The only question that matters this winter is...
🍲 What soup are you?
Are you the comforting butternut friend? The dependable tomato? The proudly South African biltong soup? Or the old-soul oxtail that's worth the wait?
💬 Tell us your soup in the comments.
Bonus points if you tag the friend who is 100% chicken noodle soup. 😌👇

Every chef has had a “well… that wasn’t the plan” moment. 😅
But sometimes the best dishes come from experimenting, adapting, and learning along the way. Because in the kitchen, mistakes don’t always mean failure, sometimes they’re just creativity in disguise.

Not every classroom has four walls… sometimes it smells like fresh bread and sizzling pans. 👨🍳
FBI Chef School offers engaging demo sessions for schools and learners interested in the culinary and hospitality industry.
We visit schools offering Consumer Studies, Hospitality Studies, and Home Economics to give students a real look into the world of food, chef training, and future career opportunities.

📩 Schools are welcome to contact us to arrange a visit and demo session.
Because sometimes all it takes is one demonstration to spark a future career.

Your turn to help us plan the next FBI workshops 👀
We’ve got some delicious ideas cooking… but we want to know what YOU would love to learn.
Would you roll pasta from scratch? Master the perfect rusk? Become a soup-and-bread winter legend? Or finally conquer fondant without wanting to throw it across the kitchen? 😅

Some of our first cooking lessons didn’t happen in culinary school.
They happened in home kitchens.
Watching hands knead dough, stir pots, pack lunchboxes and somehow make a meal out of almost nothing.
Today we celebrate the moms, grandmothers and mother figures who fed us long before we knew what hospitality meant. 💛
Happy Mother’s Day from the FBI family. 👨🍳

Deglazing is a classic chef technique, adding liquid to a hot pan to lift all those caramelised bits left behind after cooking.
Those browned bits at the bottom? That’s where the real flavour lives.
It’s one of those small things that changes everything.
The kind of detail you only really notice once you start paying attention.
Because in the kitchen, the magic is rarely in the obvious.
It’s in what most people would’ve left behind. 🔥

Today isn’t just about workers.
It’s about the ones who show up early, stay late, and keep the kitchen moving when no one’s watching.
The chefs, the students, the prep teams, the cleaners, the servers - every role matters. The culinary world isn’t always glamorous but it’s built on passion, discipline, and people who love what they do.
Let us celebrate everyone in the industry who shows up, puts in the work, and keeps the standard high. 🧡
