Dance Centre
Dance Centre offers specialized classes in ballet, tap, modern, hip hop and musical theatre.
Children learn to dance as individuals moving within the confines of their own space and development and learn the skills of dancing with a partner or in a group. Teamwork, co-dependence, discipline pattern recognition, creative design and an introduction to theatre craft are all part of the development. For those who are not keen to be a ‘Ballerina’ we also offer combo classes. This outstanding,

Every movement and position include an intentional use of the head and focus (gaze). Know where and what that is as you move through space. Use it to clarify and give meaning to your line. Staring at yourself in the mirror will only throw off your center of gravity by moving your head in a different direction-causing you to learn the wrong feel of said movement.

Ballet Term of the Week 🩰
Temps Lié - from French, meaning “connected movement.”
In ballet, temps lié is a sequence of connected movements that smoothly transfers weight from one foot to the other.
Although it’s often taught early in ballet training, temps lié develops skills that dancers use throughout their entire careers. From a biomechanics perspective, it trains controlled weight transfer, dynamic balance, and coordination as the body’s center of mass moves from one base of support to the next.
Rather than thinking of each position as separate, temps lié teaches dancers to connect every movement into one continuous flow.
Good dancing isn’t just about beautiful positions… it’s about how you move between them.
