Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of the Free State Library and Information Services (UFS LIS) has been rendering services through online platforms.
In preparation for the re-opening, UFS campus libraries โ with guidance from Occupational Health and Safety โ have been securing relevant goods that are needed in order to comply with COVID-19 protocols.
All library users who want to physically visit UFS libraries are free to do so, but this will be done under strict COVID-19 protocols. Library patrons are also informed that although services will be offered for physical visits, it will be guided by the โnew normalโ regulations:

Department of Public Law
Research Assistants (x 2 positions)
The Department of Public Law in the UFS Faculty of Law invites applications for student assistants to support academic staff of the department during the 2020 academic year. The job profile and requirements are as follows:
Duties and responsibilities:
The responsibilities cover pure research along with teaching support services and ancillary administrative support to members of the Departments, which include:
1. Identify, locate, analyse and interpret research material
2. Summarise research material and present it orally and in writing
3. Draft research narratives where appropriate
4. Provide teaching support for selected modules
5. Ensure suitable infrastructure and administration support for lecturing staff, including suitable lecture venues, prompt provision of study material to students, library loan book requisition, filing, stationery procurement, photocopying, scanning and printing
6. Assist lecturers with the administration and management of all assessments and marks within the framework of University policies and regulations
7. Perform ancillary administration and support services in the Department
Inherent requirements:
1. LLB degree
2. Registration for LLM
