The recent conflict between Iran and Israel has led to a surge in global oil prices, affecting South Africa's fuel prices. The country is bracing for a potential diesel price hike of up to R7 per litre and almost R4 per litre for 95-octane petrol in April, due to the disruption of global oil supplies and the rand's weakness.
In South Africa, the impact is significant:
- Fuel Price Increases : Diesel prices have already risen by 62c per litre in March, with further increases expected.
- Inflation: The South African Reserve Bank is concerned about the inflationary pressure, with projections indicating a potential increase to 4.4% in 2026.
- Economic Impact : The rising fuel costs will affect transportation, food prices, and overall economic growth, with sectors like agriculture and logistics facing increased costs.
The government is under pressure to mitigate the impact, with calls to suspend fuel levy increases or lower total levies.
How's your community coping with the fuel price hikes? Are there any specific challenges you're facing? 😊

The struggle is real 😔. March exams are looming, and some students are just waking up to the reality. To those students, here's a reality check: you can't cram months' worth of work into a week, especially for STEM subjects. It's not about putting in a week's worth of effort, it's about building a foundation months in advance.
To those tutoring businesses, maybe it's time to have a chat with students about setting realistic goals and expectations. And to students, don't wait until the last minute! 😊 Practice starts now, not a week before exams. Make a plan, stick to it, and you'll be golden.

We asked one of our tutors what their workspace looks like, and here's what they had to say:
"My workspace comprises of the following:
- my laptop
- portable power station (incase of electricity outages). I recently invested in a 1000Watts battery to avoid disturbances during classes.
- WIFI router; I have two WiFi providers so that I'm not entirely dependent on one
- stationery and diaries to take note of key points during each student's meeting
- oh yes and a bright lamp" 😊
