Bloom PlaySchool BLOOM is a dual medium home-based playschool for 2-4 and 3-5 year-olds in a small group setting.

Unlocking sounds with phonics fun! 🤓 We're making learning fun, one sound at a time and this week we're discovering the "O" sound as we explore it through playful activities, kinetic body movements and even sound-themed snacks!

Try it at home! Find objects starting with a certain sound around the house, practice rhyming and blending sounds together, sort objects into categories based on the sound they begin with, play I Spy for things of a certain sound, make a sound sensory bin or a collage of pictures you find starting with the sound, and don't forget to sing songs and read books and poems! But have fun with it! 📚🎶🤸‍♀️

And the winner is......🥇 Ice Hockey! 🏒
Olympic Fever Hits Bloom as our little champions participated in an Olympic sports poll, voting for their favourite winter sports! Then we created a graph to visualize the results. And then, we dived into data analysis!
We asked questions like: Which sport got the most votes? Which sport got the least votes? How many more votes did skiing get than snowboarding? What's the difference between the top two sports?
This was a whole new world of learning for our friends, developing skills like mathematical and critical thinking, data interpretation and analysis, comparisons, pattern recognition and even social-emotional skills like discussion and voting and so much more!

A Frosty Fun activity ahead!
☃*Snowmen in Summer?*
Our little explorers created adorable snowmen using balloons and frozen water!
📏*Measuring the Meltdown!*
We measured our snowmen and recorded the results. Then, we waited patiently...
🧊*The Big Melt!*
After a while, we measured again and... oh no! Our snowmen started melting!
➡️🟰*Learning through play!*
Fine motor skills building as we created our snowmen with balloons, STEM learning through observing the melting process and understanding temperature changes and even math as we worked on measuring and comparing sizes!

❄⛸ Skating into Imagination ⛸❄
Our little friends laced up their imaginary skates and hit the 'ice' today! Pretend play took centre stage as we explored the magical world of ice skating! The dress-up corner was filled with tiny Olympians, twirling and spinning in their cosy outfits!
We're not just building imagination, we're building confidence and creativity!

Winter Wonderland Fun! Our little champions have been diving into the magical world of winter sports and the Olympics! ❄🏂
1 & 2. Felt Friends: Making adorable felt representations of different winter sports like ice skaters and snowboarders
3. Ice art: Creating a picture with coloured ice to represent the patterns of an ice skater gliding on the page
4. Golden moments: We made our very own shiny golden Olympic medals
5. Skate-tastic designs: Showing off their style with customized ice skates
6. Olympic rings: An Olympic ring sensory bin sorting the different coloured rings

Our little fairies and gnomes have been busy creating magic!
P.S.: Did you notice our little ones colouring while on their tummies? We love to see this because it's so great for their shoulder stability, core muscles and back/neck muscles! It also improves hand-eye co-ordination and pencil grip, provides more proprioceptive feedback and boosts concentration. So let your little ones ly on their tummies for crafts and puzzle building!

Fairy and gnomes week has got us sprinkling some magic dust all over our classroom! ✨ We crafted scrumptious-sprinkle-sandwiches, and, with a dash of fairy dust, we conjured up our very own fairy glitter playdough! This was the perfect recipe to work on fine motor skills like spreading butter and kneeding dough, teamwork, creativity and to explore texture and colour, shaping their own enchanted creations ✨
