Your child won't remember every spelling test and assessment. But they'll remember fishing with dad and baking with mom. They'll remember the family holiday where everything went wrong and somehow that's the best memory of all. And they'll definitely remember the family adventures over weekends and school holidays.

We believe those moments matter just as much as anything in a textbook—which is why we're intentional about protecting them. We keep homework light for our younger learners, and we work to keep sport practices within the school day, so those precious late afternoon hours go back to where they belong: with family.

Childhood isn't built in assessments. It's built around dinner tables, on hiking trails, in the backseat on the way to go shopping together — wherever you find each other.

We hope this past weekend gave you some of those moments. The ordinary, unforgettable kind.

What would life be without the love of a grandparent?! Our learners are very blessed to have so many loving and supportive grandparents who show up, encourage, protect, spoil, and love them. We gathered them for a game of Bingo and a treat last Friday and it was such a beautiful day. Thank you once again to everyone who joined in the festivities at our Grandparents Day.

Welcome to a brand new series — the Teacher Feature! 🎵 Each edition, we'll introduce you to one of our incredible staff members and share a little about how the kids feel about them.

First up: Teacher Heinrich, our wonderful music teacher.

Heinrich grew up in Centurion, Gauteng, and studied BA Music at Tuks. He started teaching at Cornwall Hill College in 2005, where he was one of the founding teachers of their newly formed music department — and he's been professionally active in the music industry ever since his university days.

We are so honoured to have him at Bethlehem Akademie, where he's now getting our very own music department off the ground.

Heinrich brings a positive energy and great vibe to every class — and his love for music is infectious. It's easy to see why the kids adore him.

We are so grateful to all the professionals from various fields who took the time to come and engage with our learners on Wednesday at Career Day. They enjoyed learning about the various careers and loved interacting with our visitors! A massive thank you to every person who made the day possible.
