It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Judy Andrew.

Judy was a much-loved and valued member of the Tshepang Educare Trust family. She joined Tshepang as an Administrator, Director and later on as a Secretary to the Board of Trustees and gave many years of dedicated service, leadership and care to the organisation and the communities we serve.

We will always be grateful for the knowledge, kindness and commitment she shared with us. Her presence and contribution made a lasting difference, and she will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of working with her.

Our deepest condolences go to Judy’s family, friends and loved ones during this difficult time.

Rest peacefully, Judy. You will be greatly missed and will always remain part of the Tshepang family. 🕊️

Funda Udlale Nathi Onboarding — Petrus Steyn & Reitz.

We successfully onboarded practitioners and ECD managers into VVOB’s Funda Udlale Nathi (F.U.N) programme, a transformative approach to learning through play.

Participants enrolled in two dynamic courses:
Bi-lingual Teachers Course — empowering Grade RR & R practitioners with playful strategies for literacy, numeracy, and creativity.
Bi-lingual Leaders Course — equipping school and centre leaders to champion joyful learning environments.

This onboarding was more than registration, it was the beginning of a shared journey to strengthen early childhood education through play, leadership, and collaboration. We can’t wait to see the ripple effects in classrooms and centres across Petrus Steyn and Reitz.

Tshepang Educare Trust Hosts Children’s Protection Month Workshop at Cape Schain Farm, Bok Van zyl, Barnea, Scrapyard, Lisbon, Slabberts, Meets, Duikfontein,and Ashtonvale

From 11 May 2026–19 May 2026, Tshepang Educare Trust successfully hosted an integrated Children’s Protection Month and National Parenting workshop at the mentioned farms above.

The event focused on strengthening child welfare and responsible parenting within the community. Key speaker *Mr. Thabo Mokoena* emphasized the legal requirement and importance of registering a child’s birth immediately after birth.

*Mr. Tsibela*, Ward Councillor, echoed the message, urging caregivers to ensure all children are officially registered to secure their rights and access to services.

In line with its commitment to holistic child wellbeing, Tshepang Educare Trust distributed *groceries to 125 children* and provided *nutritional porridge* to support their health and nutrition needs.

The Trust reaffirmed its dedication to protecting children and supporting families through practical assistance and education

✨ On 4 February 2026, we hosted a special parental workshop focused on the power of play and storytelling. Parents learned practical ways to engage with their children through play, and we shared techniques on how to read stories at home to spark imagination and a love for books.

📚 A heartfelt thank you to Book Dash for generously providing us with books that will continue to inspire families beyond the workshop.

Together, we’re building stronger connections between parents and children one story at a time. 💛

Friday (16 January 2026) workshop was truly impactful!

We focused on tracking children’s progress against developmental milestones and explored growth monitoring assessments to ensure little ones are thriving and to identify early signs of malnutrition.

What made it even more exciting was the hands on demonstration, equipping ECD practitioners with practical skills to confidently apply these practices in the field.

Together, we’re building stronger foundations for healthier, happier children 😊💚

This week we hosted our very first Parents Meeting of 2026, and what a wonderful gathering it was! 🌸

We welcomed new learners and their families into our community.

Parents had the opportunity to learn more about how our playgroups work, a space where children grow through play, creativity, and connection.

We also shared the vision and mission of Tshepang Educare Trust, highlighting the role we play in nurturing young minds and supporting families.

The energy in the room was inspiring, and we are grateful for the trust and enthusiasm shown by our parents. Together, we are building a strong foundation for our children’s future. 💛
