Today we celebrate all the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, uncles, guardians, and father figures who guide, support, encourage, and inspire the girls and young women in our movement.

Thank you for cheering from the sidelines, helping with badge work, driving to meetings and camps, lending a hand when needed, and believing in the potential of every Girl Guide.

Just as Guiding helps young people grow into confident, capable leaders, the support and example of caring father figures helps shape their journey along the way.

Wishing all our Guiding dads and father figures a wonderful Father's Day filled with appreciation, adventure, and special moments with those you love.

Day 1: Opening Ceremony and Opening of Business at the 39th WAGGGS World Conference

The 39th WAGGGS World Conference, hosted by the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia in Siem Reap, Cambodia, was officially and beautifully opened under the theme “We See. We Care. We Act.” The theme challenges us to recognise the needs of girls and young women, to care deeply about the issues affecting them, and take action to create lasting positive change.The opening ceremony was graced by Candela Gonzalez, Chair of the WAGGGS World Board, together with distinguished guests including Hon. Hun Manet, Prime Minister of Cambodia, and Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet, Chief Commissioner of the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia.

A special proud moment for GIRL GUIDES South Africa was seeing Nokuthula Mahlangu among the young women selected to deliver a speech during the opening of the Business Session, representing the voices, aspirations, and leadership of young women from across the global Movement.
