Job Title: Senior Fitter & Turner Facilitator
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Fitter & Turner Facilitator to deliver high-quality theoretical and practical training to apprentices and learners. The role includes learner assessment, workshop oversight, and mentoring junior trainers to ensure competency standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
• Facilitate QCTO-accredited theoretical and practical Fitter & Turner training.
• Conduct formative and summative assessments and moderate learner performance in line with SETA/QCTO requirements.
• Manage daily workshop operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and productive training environment.
• Train learners on conventional lathes, milling, drilling, and grinding machines.
• Provide technical coaching in precision machining, assembly, fault-finding, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical maintenance.
• Assist with training material and lesson plan development.
• Ensure strict compliance with OHS regulations.
Minimum Requirements
• Trade Test: Fitter and Turner (Red Seal).
• Education: Matric (Grade 12) + N6 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience: Minimum 5–10 years post experience in a manufacturing or workshop environment.
• Training Experience: At least 3 years experience as a trainer/facilitator in a technical training.
• Skills: Proficiency in blueprint reading, technical drawing, and precision measuring instruments.
• Certification: Registered Moderator and Assessor.
• Advantageous: Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
