In true South African style, our baking lesson this month featured magwenyas which the children prepared and Selina fried and served with mince for their lunch. An absolute treat enjoyed by all. ๐ง๐ฝโ๐ณ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ
Science in preschool lays the foundation for curiosity, problem-solving and a love of learning. Through simple experiments, nature walks and hands-on activities, young children begin to explore how the world works. Science encourages them to ask questions, observe carefully and make connections, helping to build confidence and critical thinking skills from an early age.
Colour mixing is a fun and creative way for preschoolers to learn about science and art at the same time. By combining primary colours like red, blue and yellow, children discover how new colours are made, which strengthens their understanding of cause and effect. It also allows them to express themselves freely while developing fine motor skills and an appreciation for creativity.

Last Friday, we did baking with our theme, โall about meโ. We iced a happy face on a Marie biscuit. It would have been too messy to send home so we ate them with our snacks.
Baking helps the childrenโs fine motor skills, creativity, communication and teamwork but most importantly their sense of achievement.
