Aramandi
It is perhaps the most important (and hardest) posture in Bharatanatyam, “Arai” is a Tamil word which means “Half” and “Mandi” means “to sit”. Hence, this is a posture of Half-Sitting. Almost every step in Bharatanatyam will involve the dancer sitting in the Aramandi posture.

For Hindus, the
goddess Lakshmi
symbolizes good luck. The word Lakshmi is derived from the Sanskrit word Laksya, and she is the goddess of wealth and prosperity of all forms, both material and spiritual. Lakshmi is the household goddess of mostly all Hindu families and is worshipped daily, but today is her day and Sarvashiva Dance Academy was challenge to wear red to support woman and bring out the light and blessings within themselves.
We would like to wish you all a blessed Varalakshmi 🙏

Sarvashiva Intermediate Students put together a video of tips to help you stay safe and clean against Covid-19. The girls were very creative in putting together their parts and we are very proud of them💃🥰❤

Sarvashiva juniors urges everyone to stay at home and be safe. This is a pandemic we need to overcome so they can continue to dance and achieve their goals.
We are grateful for the people on the frontline that are doing everything in their power to keep us safe.
Let us stand together and help them heal the world❤
The students of Sarvashiva Dance Academy and fellow Dancers of South Africa came together out of the comfort of their own home and put together a video to show support to all those affected by Covid-19, as well as gratitude to all the doctors, nurses, everyone that works at the hospitals and clinics, pharmacists, social workers, people in the food industry, the law enforcement, fire and rescue services, emergency medical services, all security guards, the tellers and workers at all the supermarkets... We acknowledge the risk that you are putting you and your family through, even the sacrifice of being seperated from them during this time just to keep them safe. We also want to thank our leader for taking charge, carrying the strain of all these difficult decisions and putting our wellbeing first. We want everyone to know that they are appreciated. ❤
Together as a community we will be able to conquer this virus and eventually move on from this devastating time. We all need to unite, be responsible, stay at home, wash our hands and sanitize to ensure that the hard work, sweat and tears put in by our angel workers will not be in vain and that our elders and children will not be out in harm's way.
