"DOCTOR THEMED SENSORY RICE TRAY "💉💊💉.

By creating a doctor SENSORY tray the children learn science, literacy and maths concepts in a fun way as they play and pretend.

Pretending to be a medical professional is a favourite for many children.

I also teach the children not to be afraid of a doctor as they help them when they are sick.

They are taught the dangers of medicine and that only adults can administer it to them.

They had such fun with the pretend stethoscope....listening to the heart beat❤

The children loved this turtle "SENSORY play activity.

Watch them get immersed in play as they explore their senses and environment around them.

The orbeeze being cool and smooth to the touch!!

SENSORY play allows children to explore their senses, their environment, gain confidence have fun and so much more .

"DENTIST THEMED SENSORY RICE AND OATS TRAY" 🦷🦷🦷.....

As many children are afraid of the dentist with this tray I try to put them at ease by explaining what the dentist does.

By letting them have pretend play I try to get rid of fears they have.

They also learn the importance of looking after their teeth and good oral hygiene.

(The sweets are pretend!!!!)

Pouring and scooping as well as fine motor skills are addressed with this SENSORY tray.

SENSORY play like this encourages children to explore different (sometimes new) textures, utilize fine motor skills , practice descriptive language and use their imaginations.

"GARDEN SENSORY TRAY WITH COFFEE GROUNDS "🌱🌼🌿🌺....

Scooping and pouring the coffee grounds into the containers was such fun.

We could also smell coffee as we worked.

The children planted their flowers and pretended to water them with the watering cans.

They learnt how important water is or all living things.

Eye hand coordination, fine motor skills, imaginative and creative play as well as the sense of smell was addressed.

"DINOSAUR KINETIC SAND MESSY PLAY ACTIVITY"🦕🦖🦕.....

Kinetic sand is a great SENSORY activity for children.

It is a unique substance.

It is sand like when left alone but when you grasp it in your hand you are able to mould it, squeeze it and shape it.

Once you add pressure , it crumbles back to its original state.

Its soothing to touch, manipulate and is used for stress relief.

Creating activities for children to actively use their senses as they explore their world through SENSORY play is crucial for brain development.

The young paleontologists loved roaring and stomping their dinosaurs through the kinetic sand.

Much fun was had today!!!!!

"POUR SCOOP AND PLAY SENSORY TRAY "....

Children love the opportunity to explore different materials and experiment with ways they can be used and manipulated.

When a child is engaged in a scooping and pouring type activity they are
*Developing and refining their fine motor skills.
*Learning about gravity and weight
*Cause and effect.
*Muscle control
*Self awareness and environment.

It is really important that children are engaged in these types of activities.
