Happy International Pilates Day 🤍

A little biased… but I genuinely think Pilates changes lives.

I get to witness strength, confidence, resilience and connection every single day. From the loud, shaky booty-band burns to the quiet moments moving alone in the studio.

And after 100+ years, this method still keeps evolving with us.

So grateful this is what I get to call work 🫶

Moving countries is exciting… but it’s also incredibly emotional.

When I moved from South Africa to Australia I thought the hardest part would be leaving home.

But there are so many little things you don’t expect.

The quiet moments when you wish family were closer.
Coming home to your doggie.
The strange feeling of being both grateful and homesick at the same time.

If you’ve ever moved away from home, you’ll understand how complex those emotions can be.

But with time you slowly start creating a new rhythm, new routines and new connections.

And one day you realise you’ve built another version of home.

Cause you e couldn’t bring Yoko to Aus. I’ve had some pups visit me in our new home - a little pet sitting side hustle that feels like speed dating all sorts of different pooches! Here are some of those guys 🤍

Slow Sunday mornings on the Goldie just hit different

Post pilates + a beach walk = this quick, wholesome 4-min brekkie to refuel. Nothing fancy, just something delicious, satisfying, and easy so I can actually enjoy the morning instead of spending it in the kitchen.

Sundays have become my reset day — time to slow down, plan the week ahead, and pour a little extra care into the simple things (like good food).

This was one of the hardest videos I’ve ever made.

There’s so much more I could say… but this feels like the first real step in saying something. On my terms. In my own time. With where I’m at right now.

I turned 30 in a country I didn’t grow up in, but have grown to love deeply. And somewhere along the way, I’ve realised I miss home in a way that’s hard to explain… because it doesn’t quite feel like home anymore either.

That’s a big thing to admit.
And it’s taken a lot of tears (and a couple of years) to get there.

But I will always love the people. And maybe that’s what makes it home.
Or maybe “home” isn’t one fixed place.

Maybe it’s relative.
Maybe it’s where you are right now in your life…
without taking away from the homes you’ve loved before.

Because those count too.
Every place you’ve grown, cried, laughed, rebuilt - that’s home as well.

This video is me finally acknowledging something I didn’t even realise I was carrying:

“I didn’t realise I was grieving… until 2 years later.”

Still becoming.
Still processing.
Still finding my way between the places that have shaped me 🤍

There’s something pretty powerful about stepping into a one-on-one like this!

Nina from Om Pilates is taking me through a full apparatus session and honestly, this is where the magic happens.

Everything is completely tailored to you.
Your body
your strengths
your little imbalances…
even how you’re feeling that day!

And the detail? It’s next level.
Those small cues, tiny adjustments… they change everything. You feel it instantly, and your body responds so much more efficiently.

We’re always students too.

It’s actually our superpower… to keep learning, to keep showing up for each other, and to uplift one another in the process.

Because when we invest in ourselves, we show up even better for our clients.

And that ripple effect?
That’s where the real transformation happens.

Weighted flow Part 2

Upper body focus, switching on our core for stability in this lunge position. Treating the last fly variation as a drop set for the ultimate buuuuurn. Move your grip position from the D ring, to the short loop and finally the long loop. I used a 3kg weight and 1/2 spring 🤍
