Revolutionary Greetings,
I trust this communication finds you well.
First and foremost, I would like to extend my sincere apologies to all students for the delay in providing updates regarding the upcoming Bellville LSRC Bash. We understand that many of you have been uncertain about whether the bash is still happening, and we regret that this confusion has persisted.
As the Bellville LSRC, we have been working diligently to ensure the success of this event. Despite our best efforts, there are factors beyond our control that may result in the bash being postponed. However, we want to assure you that the event is still scheduled to take place on Saturday, August 31. We are doing everything in our power to prevent any changes, and we kindly ask for your patience and understanding as we navigate these challenges.
It is important to clarify that any posts regarding the lineup of artists performing at the bash that have not been released by the official Bellville SRC page should be disregarded. We do not want to make promises we cannot keep, and we are aware that there may be those who wish to see the Bellville SRC fail. We urge you to remain patient and trust that we will provide you with accurate and reliable information as soon as it becomes available.
We appreciate your continued support and ask that you stay tuned for an update by Thursday at 16:00, where we will provide the final word on the event's status and the full lineup, should the bash proceed as planned.
Thank you for your understanding and continued belief in our leadership.

CLARIFICATION REGARDING AFFILIATION COMMUNICATION
Dear Bellville Campus Students,
As Chairperson of the Student Representative Council (SRC) at Bellville campus, I am reaching out to clarify recent communication regarding the affiliation of various campus structures.
It has come to my attention that unofficial information has been circulated through channels not endorsed by the SRC or myself. Let me be unequivocal: any communication not originating from the official Bellville LSRC page should be disregarded. Such unofficial sources do not have the authority or approval of the SRC or myself, and their information should be considered void.
Rest assured, we are actively addressing this miscommunication internally. Those responsible for spreading misinformation will be dealt with accordingly. Additionally, any individual SRC member causing confusion or delays will face appropriate consequences. It's crucial to understand that no single individual within the SRC holds decision-making authority for the entire LSRC body.
I acknowledge the confusion and stress this may have caused. I offer my sincerest apologies for any inconvenience. Moving forward, I urge all students to await official communication through established SRC channels. This will ensure accurate information dissemination, including details and deadlines for affiliating structures.
Thank you for your understanding and patience in this matter.
Sincerely,
Lindani Mthembu
Chairperson, Bellville LSRC

16/02/2024
Greetings,
We as the SRC of Bellville CPUT, would like to take a moment to express our gratitude to the different structures including CSRC for their tireless efforts in providing much-needed support and aid to the students in our residences who are facing unprecedented challenges.
With countless students finding themselves without proper accommodation, many have been forced to sleep on the floors of our halls, common rooms, and even outside. It is an unacceptable situation that denies the most basic needs of our fellow students and community members.
With limited or no access to cooking facilities in these makeshift living arrangements, many students find themselves in desperate situations, unable even to provide themselves with food. Many have been forced to subsist on takeaways, until they have run out of money and are left languishing in hunger.
It is in this context that different structures and religious
Structures intervention has been so crucial. Their commitment to the well-being of all students in our community has been inspiring to many of us. We salute them and all those who have joined them in providing food donations and other forms of assistance to the students in need.
We also take this opportunity to call on all members of the campus community to support our ongoing efforts to provide aid and support to these students. By working together, we can make a difference in the lives of those who are most vulnerable and ensure that all members of our community have the basic necessities of life. Together we can make the campus a welcoming and supportive environment for all.

BELLVILLE SRC STATEMENT ON RESIDENCE
The 2023/24 Bellville Local Representative Students Council (SRC) would like to begin with, by affirming its position that it stands with all the students who have residence challenges, be it First Time Entering Students (FTEN), appellants or exit level students.
On the 13th of February 2024, we witnessed the Campus Protection Services (CPS) treating FTEN who had slept at the students centre as though they are criminals and or trespassers, by forcefully removing them from campus under the supervision and directive of the Head of Risk and Protection Services as seen on the circulating videos on social networks. These are students who many if not all, have no relatives in the vicinity and probably have never been to Western Cape before, and more importantly, are registered students in CPUT.
It could not get worse in the evening of the 13th of February 2024, we witnessed once again a hostage situation in Bellville campus where we could not enter nor exist campus as though we have no rights to access campus at anytime, as and when we want. As the SRC, we exhausted all possible measures and tried to reach out to the relevant bodies in the best interest of getting the gates opened and students to be able to move freely on campus as their rights were infringed.
Understanding that all FTEN students who were outside the gate could not access campus in light of the bags and not having rooms where they can sleep, as the SRC hand in glove with the political formations organised some sandwiches so that atleast the students affected can snack as we understand that no sandwich can make a person full. In our commitment to show solidarity to these students, we spent the night outside campus such that should we be needed to assist with something, we would not be far.
Be that as it may, today, the 14th of February 2024, a meeting was forced to sit between CPUT and NSFAS such that CPUT is exempted from the pilot project of NSFAS, and thus making it possible for all NSFAS qualifying students and those with bursaries to be able to go to private accommodations if they wish to.
The placement team of Bellville is doing a wonderful job so far of promoting senior students where possible in the best interest of creating space for FTENs. Some students have been placed where there has been space created, and the team is still working hard to place where it can such that if needs be, the University can get another building to place students.
Moreover, the appeals committee has not concluded its proceedings as yet, however, as soon as they are concluded, all students should get their responses.
We are glad to announce, as a less of an achievement as it may be that no student is sleeping outside tonight as we ensured that B-Block in Heroes house is opened and all the warm TV rooms for students to sleep, and this temporal arrangement has been made for all FTENs and returning students. Placement will continue taking place and be done where there is space available.
As the SRC, we wish to extend our sincere gratitude to all the political formations that stood with the students in matter and still continue to be our support system. Izandla zidlul’ikhanda!
Any student who has other challenges is welcome to reach out to SRC as we are on the ground being the voice of the voiceless as our sole responsibility is to serve you all without seeking any fame and praise.
Lastly, we wish to urge all students to be sceptical of any agent provocateurs and thugs who will want you to pay them in return of assistance, should you come across such a human being, please report them to any SRC member or campus security officer that you see around you. No one must make you pay for anything, and it becomes worse if they ask you for sexual favours. We have no room for perverts and thugs who are taking advantage of our students, hence it is therefore imperative that you come forward and lay a complaint should you experience any of that.

BELLVILLE SRC STATEMENT ON RESIDENCE AND REGISTRATION
The 2023/24 Bellville Local Representative Students Council (SRC) would like to begin with by welcoming all students back to campus, and more importantly wish all students a progressive academic year.
Registration has been extended to the 1st of March 2024.Residence placement is underway and as the SRC, we collectively have a duty to be your mouthpiece in offices where you cannot enter and or not being assisted anyhow. Certainly, some of you are frustrated with residential issues in light of being placed on waiting list and or pending statuses, as the SRC, we wish to affirm our position that all students where there is space available will be placed in residence as the placement process is currently ongoing.
We are aware that there are first-year students who have no residence application on their SOS because they did not know how to go on about applying for accommodation. As the SRC, we have taken it upon ourselves to report this matter to the Student Governance and Leadership Development that all first-year students who have registered for the 2024 academic year be assisted with placement where there is space available.
Moreover, it has come to our that at the gate, students are being denied entrance more in particular those who have not been accepted for residence yet and with some having to access campus to remove their financial blocks. As the SRC, we are speaking to Campus Control and Protection Service to relax these measures and allow students who are registered for the 2024 academic year to access campus together with all returning students who due to various reasons cannot register.
Any student therefore who has other challenges is welcome to visit the SRC offices at the students’ centre as we are on the ground being the voice of the voiceless as our sole responsibility is to serve you all without seeking any fame and praise.

UPDATE ON CPUT SYSTEM OUTAGE AT DEBTORS OFFICE
Revolutionary Greetings CPUT Populace
This serves to inform you that the CPUT system at the debtors office is currently experiencing technical issues. As a result, there are ongoing challenges in processing the signing of Acknowledgment of Debt (AOD) forms. Even those who signed these forms in previous week remain blocked.
While we acknowledge the difficulty of urging calm and patience, we want to emphasize that inquiries are being made regularly at the debtors office, and pressure is being applied to expedite the resolution of this matter.
We kindly advise everyone to remain at home until the system is fully operational and you have completed the registration process for both academics and residence. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated, and we will keep you updated on the progress.
Thank you for your understanding.
Yours in leadership
Revolutionary Greetings Students

Revolutionary Greetings CPUT Community,
We trust this message finds you well. We are writing to address the circulating misinformation on WhatsApp regarding late applications and available spaces in various departments at CPUT.
As of now, CPUT has not officially announced the opening of late applications, and any information suggesting otherwise is inaccurate. However, in discussions with administrative staff, it has been indicated that there is a possibility of late applications being considered after the registration period. This would involve a walk-in application process, identifying available spaces in certain departments with available spaces.
It is crucial for all Africans to be aware that personal documents should not be shared with anyone for the application process. When the time is right, the proper channel for application will be through the CPUT online website.
We encourage everyone to stay informed through official channels and await announcements from CPUT regarding late applications. Your patience and adherence to the correct procedures are appreciated.
Regards
Dear CPUT Community
Receive our humble revolutionary greetings.
Kindly note that all students who owe because they are affected by the R45 000 residence cap, will receive a DHET AOD from FAO.
FAO will remove blocks for all students with outstanding fees because NSFAS paid partially for them.
All students whose registration template was sent to NSFAS, however NSFAS has not made a payment have received DHET AODs.
Students are urged not to share these links as they are specifically for the students that they are sent to.
Yours in Leadership
