Our Belhar Campus was proud to host the Northlink College and Social Development Department Career Expo, welcoming high school learners for a day filled with exploration, learning, and opportunity.

The event brought together the Department of Social Development and a variety of stakeholders who shared valuable information, guidance, and support services aimed at empowering young people as they prepare for their future careers and educational journeys.

As part of the experience, learners enjoyed a guided tour of our workshops, gaining firsthand insight into the practical skills training and career pathways available at Northlink College. The expo provided an excellent platform for learners to engage with industry and community partners, ask questions, and explore opportunities that can help shape their future.

A sincere thank you to the Department of Social Development, our stakeholders, educators, and learners for making the day a resounding success. Together, we are creating pathways to education, skills development, and brighter futures.

Regional Workshops on Occupational Qualifications and Lecturer Information Verification

The Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) is conducting regional workshops with TVET Colleges to assess progress in the implementation of occupational programmes and strengthen the accuracy and integrity of lecturer information and qualification records.

The Western Cape and Northern Cape regional workshop took place on 18–19 August 2026 at Northlink TVET College, Parow Campus.

The two-day workshop focused on: • Progress in implementing occupational programmes • Institutional readiness, capacity and resource requirements • Challenges, risks and support required • Verification of lecturer employment information and qualifications • Verification of supporting documentation and institutional records

The workshop forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the implementation of occupational qualifications and ensure accurate, complete and verifiable lecturer information across the TVET sector.

Bellville Campus hosted a valuable engagement focused on career opportunities in the space industry, with representatives from the South African National Space Agency (SANSA) and CSIR sharing insights into the growing range of opportunities available to skilled artisans.

Students from Bellville and Wingfield campuses engaged in meaningful discussions around careers, skills and pathways into the space sector.

We look forward to building stronger partnerships with organizations in the space industry and creating more opportunities for our students to take their skills into exciting and emerging fields.

Northlink College welcomed Xelvin South Africa to Wingfield Campus, connecting our students and alumni with potential technical career opportunities in the Netherlands.

From electricians and diesel mechanics to millwrights and fitters and turners, skilled artisans are in demand.
