Ma’am Maryna has been part of the BCA story almost from the very beginning. She has seen seasons come and go, watched little ones grow up, and poured into the lives of so many learners who have passed through our doors.

For her, education has never only been about what a child knows. It is about who that child is becoming.

It is about character. Values. Faith. Teaching our children to know who they are in Christ and helping to mould and shape young lives that will one day go out and make a difference in the world.

That kind of investment cannot be measured on a report card.

Ma’am Maryna, thank you for the many years you have faithfully given to BCA. Thank you for believing in what our school stands for, for caring deeply about our learners and for continuing to sow into their lives; academically, spiritually and personally.

While much of what Uncle Kenny does happens quietly in the background, it certainly doesn't go unnoticed.

Whether he is patrolling the street, keeping watch while our staff open or close the premises, checking that everyone is safe, helping with something that needs to be done or simply being available when we need an extra pair of hands; Uncle Kenny is there.

Thank you for looking out for our people and our school, and for the countless ways you help without expecting recognition.
Knowing that someone is watching out for you brings a sense of security that is difficult to put into words, and we appreciate you tremendously.

PRIZE GIVING 2026 — SESSION TWO

And then came Session Two… what a way to end an unforgettable day!

Our Grade 3 to Senior learners took to the stage, and somewhere between the performances, the laughter, the certificates and those incredibly proud moments, we were reminded just how quickly these children are growing up.

Some have been part of BCA for many years. We have watched them change, mature, find their confidence, discover their strengths and become more and more of who God created them to be.

And that is what Prize Giving means to us.

Yes, we celebrate the achievements.
Yes, we celebrate the hard work.
But we also celebrate the journey, the perseverance, the lessons learned, the challenges overcome and the growth that doesn't always fit onto a certificate.

UNSTOPPABLE GRACE.

Grace that has carried us through another year.
Grace in the victories and in the difficult moments.
Grace that reminds us that every child's story is still being written.

To our learners... we are incredibly proud of you. Keep working, keep growing, keep dreaming, keep trusting God and never underestimate what He can do with your life.

To every parent, family member and friend who filled the room with support, applause and encouragement... thank you for celebrating with us.

And to our BCA staff, who poured so much into preparing our learners and bringing this entire day together, thank you for giving your hearts to what you do.

PRIZE GIVING 2026 — SESSION ONE

Yesterday was one of those days we wish we could bottle up and keep.

Our first session belonged to our Grade R, Grade 1 and Grade 2 learners and what a beautiful way to begin our 2026 Prize Giving!

The excitement backstage, little voices and big smiles, proud teachers, even prouder parents, dancing, celebrating achievements and watching our children confidently take their moment…

This year's theme, UNSTOPPABLE GRACE, could not have been more fitting.

Because behind every certificate, every performance and every child standing on that stage is a journey. There has been learning, growing, trying again, overcoming, praying, encouraging and so much grace along the way.

Yesterday wasn't simply about what our children have achieved. It was about stopping for a moment to see how far they have come.

To our precious little ones.... we are SO proud of you!
You filled that stage with personality, joy and plenty of unforgettable moments.

To our parents and families, thank you for showing up, cheering loudly and walking this journey alongside us. And to our incredible staff; so much happens behind the scenes to make a day like this possible. Thank you.

Today we celebrate the heart behind Bellville Christian Academy.

Some people build businesses. Others build something that becomes part of people's lives.

For Pastor Sandra Maritz, BCA has never simply been about education, a school building, numbers or enrolments. It has always been about people, relationships, purpose and heart.

Many years ago, Bellville Christian Academy began with just five students and a vision carried with faith. Today, when we look around our school, it is almost impossible not to stop and think about how far God has brought us.

But perhaps the greatest measure of what has been built isn't found in how much the school has grown.

It is found in the lives that have been touched along the way.

Learners who have grown up within these walls. Parents who became friends. Families who found a place where they were known by name. Staff members who became family. Children who needed someone to believe in them. And countless people who have crossed BCA's path and left carrying a little piece of it with them.

Pastor Sandra, you have been our founder, CEO and Principal, but your influence has always reached far beyond a title.

You have prayed, fought, sacrificed, encouraged, corrected, celebrated, cried, laughed and kept believing in this school through every season. What began with five students has become a story made up of hundreds of lives and families — and that is a legacy no number can fully measure.

Today, we don't only celebrate your birthday. We celebrate you, and we thank God for the vision He placed in your heart and for the courage you had to keep saying yes to it.

May this next year bring fresh strength, new joy and the opportunity to see even more of the fruit of all those years of planting. May God continue to lead you into everything He still has planned for BCA and for your life.

This Spring, we wanted to create something that was not only beautiful to look at, but meaningful too.

Each of our students received their own flower and was asked to pause, reflect and write down something they are grateful to God for OR something they are praying for.
One by one, they came and added their own flower to our Garden of Gratitude & Prayer.

Some flowers hold simple little thank-yous. Some carry hopes and dreams. Others hold prayers that are very real to the hearts of our children. And together, they created something beautiful.

Just as Spring reminds us that new life can grow after every season, we want our students to know that God hears every prayer, sees every heart and is at work even when we cannot yet see what is growing.

Different flowers. Different stories. Different prayers.
One beautiful garden. One faithful God.

Today we get to celebrate the lady behind our Grade R classroom — Ma’am Suegnet!

Teaching Grade R takes a very particular kind of heart. You are teacher, encourager, helper, referee, shoelace fixer, tear wiper, biggest cheerleader… and somewhere along the way, you become a little bit of a school mom and friend to every child in your care.

Thank you for loving our littlest learners so well. For celebrating their smallest victories like they are the biggest achievements, for the patience on the difficult days, for all the hugs, laughs and encouragement, and for helping those little personalities find their feet as they begin their school journey.

We know that long after they have outgrown your classroom, there will be children who still remember “my Grade R teacher.” What a beautiful privilege that is.

Happy Birthday, Ma'am Carlia!

If there is one thing everyone knows about Ma'am Carlia, it's her beautiful smile. No matter the day, no matter the challenge, she has a way of greeting others with warmth, kindness and a gentle smile that brightens the room. She doesn't seek the spotlight or say much, but her quiet presence speaks louder than words ever could.

She reminds us that strength isn't always loud. Sometimes it's found in showing up faithfully, choosing joy, encouraging others and continuing to smile through every season.

Ma'am Carlia, thank you for being such a beautiful example of grace, resilience and faithfulness. Your kindness, humility and servant heart bless our learners, parents and staff more than you probably realize.

As you celebrate another year of life, we pray that the same love and encouragement you so freely give to others will be returned to you many times over. May God continue to strengthen you, guide your steps and fill this new year with peace, favour and abundant blessings.

Happy Belated Birthday, Sir Celso!

This week we had the joy of celebrating the birthday of our wonderful Math Tutor, Sir Celso!

Numbers may be your specialty, but the difference you make in the lives of our learners can never truly be measured. Thank you for the patience you show, the encouragement you give, and the time you invest in helping our students grow in confidence and ability.

Your calm nature, willingness to help and passion for teaching are such a blessing to our Bellville Christian Academy family. We are truly grateful to have you as part of our team.

Sir Celso, may this new year of your life be filled with God's abundant favour, good health, joy and countless blessings. May He continue to strengthen you, guide your steps and use you to impact many more young lives.
