At the Western Cape Cake Decorators and Bakers Club, giving back is part of our DNA and we are so pleased that today we could join other bakers in the Cupcakes of Hope initiative to support kids with cancer.

We initially pledged 200 cupcakes, but with the help and support of our members, we were able to donate almost double ( 392! ) colourful cupcakes.

We wish everyone good health and strength as you stand up to cancer. 💪🧁🩷

It's time to get ready for our next meeting on 19 September at 14h45.

The meeting includes a mini demonstration by AJ Van Niekerk on Pastillage, and our main demonstration by our chairman Dewald Herbst on Crimping.

Happy Spring Bakers & Decorators 🌱🌺

Our previous meeting had lots of creativity bunched together. Sharon Loose and volunteers helped the Juniors to finalise their Show Stoppers, Michelle Elario's workshop attendees made Wedding themed Panda Cake Toppers, and Jean Whyburd assisted club members with foliage and flowers for the Floral Arch that will be on display at the Cake Show in October.

Lorna Des Fountain demonstrated piping with Rainbow Coloured Icing and Sharon Loose demonstrated putting together a Floral Spray under the watchful eye of Jean Whyburd, our Sugar Flower Expert.

We celebrated Jean Whyburd's birthday and Rinda Strauss presented with her with a beautifully decorated fruit cake. We all shared tea and cake together and celebrated the raffle winners.

We hope to see you at our final meeting on 19 September 2026. We will post further details in the next week.

Hi Decorators & Bakers

This is your invitation for our next meeting on 15 August 2026 at 14h45.

Sharon Loose and Jean Whyburd will be demonstrating the Assembly of a Floral Spray, and AJ Van Niekerk will show us how to pipe with Rainbow Colours.

Come and join the fun for just R50 per person for non-members that includes tea/coffee and treats, as well as raffles and lucky draws.

Hi Decorators and Bakers

At last week's meeting Sharon Loose and volunteers helped the Juniors to work on their cakes and sugar flowers as we gear up for the Cake Show in October.

Jean Whyburd assisted club members with their contributions for the Wedding Themed Floral Arch.

Sharon Loose taught a Christmas Wreath class and Karen Koekemoer demonstrated wedding themed cake toppers with lots of hints and tips 🤵👰

We celebrated raffle winners and had tea and cake as we shared our cake stories 🍰 ☕

Keep an eye out for upcoming events and adverts, or better yet, join us for our next meeting on 15 August 2026.
