A look back at St Benedict’s College in 1986 and a memorable production that brought our boys to the stage. 🎭

That year, the boys performed Antshillvania, a modern interpretation of the Biblical story of the Prodigal Son, interwoven with the parable of the Sower. The production combined drama, music and Scripture, bringing the Christian message to life through the talents and creativity of our boys.

These photographs offer a glimpse into the boys who took part in the production and the memories they created on stage.

Throwing it back to Homecoming 2024 🔙

From old friends and familiar faces to moments that reminded us why Bennies will always feel like home, Homecoming 2024 was one to remember. This year, we’re inviting our Old Boys back for another Homecoming Week from 1–3 October 2026.

Come back, reconnect and be part of the memories we’ll make together. We look forward to welcoming you home.

Alumni Spotlight: Letlotlo-La-Bakuena 🎤

Letlotlo-La-Bakuena, better known as 9umba, from the Class of 2020, recently brought his plaque and SAMA Award to the Bibliobox to inspire the next generation of Bennies boys with a passion for music.

It was a wonderful opportunity for our boys who are musically inclined or interested in the music industry to see what is possible through passion, dedication and hard work. We are incredibly proud to see our alumni returning to Bennies to share their journeys and inspire those who follow in their footsteps.

Congratulations to Tsaone Modiroa, Class of 2020, on graduating with his second degree, an LLB from the University of Pretoria.

While completing his studies, Tsaone balanced a demanding schedule, working with Red Bull, captaining the region, invigilating the June and December examinations at Bennies, and running his own events company. His achievement reflects the hard work, commitment, and determination he has shown throughout his journey.

We are incredibly proud of all that Tsaone has achieved and wish him every success as he begins this exciting new chapter. 🙌🥂

We're proud to see Bennies Old Boy Troy Zillen representing South Africa at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships.

Troy will compete in the U23 Lightweight Men's Single Scull, fulfilling a dream he's had since childhood of wearing the green and gold.

Join us in wishing Troy all the best as he takes on the world. Leave your message of support in the comments.

Meet the U23 Squad: Troy Zillen

Starting today, we are running a special series highlighting each of our incredible rowers who have been selected to represent South Africa at the World Rowing Under 23 Championships.

First up in the tracker is Troy Zillen, taking on the world in the BLM1x (U23 Lightweight Men's Single Scull).

When we asked Troy why he is excited to wear the green and gold, he shared a goal that started years ago: "I've always wanted to represent South Africa once I was a little kid and this is my first chance to do so and make my younger self proud."

Let us help Troy make that younger self proud. Leave your message of support for Troy in the comments below.
