Happy Birthday, David🎂

Today we celebrate someone who has been part of the Poppy Seeds story from the very beginning.🤲🏽

David joined us when we opened our doors in 2016, and for ten years he has been a constant and dependable presence in our school. As Head of Security, Maintenance, Groundskeeping and Transport, he quietly takes care of so much behind the scenes, ensuring that our school is safe, welcoming and running smoothly each day.✨

David is someone we know we can always count on. He is calm, reliable, hardworking and always willing to help, no matter what needs to be done.🌱 He is often the first smiling face our families see in the morning, and he has taken the time over the years to know our children and families by name.🔐

Looking back through ten years of photographs, we are reminded just how much of our journey David has shared with us. He has seen Poppy Seeds grow and change, and through it all, he has remained a steady and valued part of our school community.💐

David, thank you for your loyalty, your dedication and for everything you do for Poppy Seeds, much of it quietly and without fuss. We are incredibly grateful to have had you beside us for these past ten years.🫶

Montessori Moments✨

An invitation for children aged 3 to 12 years who are enrolled at other primary schools and would benefit from added academic support through the Montessori Philosophy and Method.🤲🏽

In Montessori Moments, children have access to our experienced Montessori teachers, Prepared Environment, and beautiful Montessori equipment.✨

Each session, they’ll also explore practical life skills through the culinary arts — creating a delicious dish together that they then enjoy as a group during afternoon tea time. ☕🍽️

When: Mondays & Wednesdays
Time: 14h30 - 16h30 (2 hours per session, during school terms)

Cost: R220 per session. Payable upfront for the month, regardless of attendance.

To the women who nurture our youngest hearts, the mothers, gogos, aunties, teachers and principals, caregivers, day mothers, playgroup facilitators, and every woman who shows up with love, patience, and wisdom. We see you. We honour you. We salute you.❤️

And especially to the women who marched in 1956, standing together against the pass laws and apartheid with courage and quiet strength. Your fight for dignity and equality paved the way for the safe, loving spaces our children learn in today.🙌🏽

Breathe and Be Club at Poppy Seeds

Facilitated by Bridget Fourie, is a session that builds emotional literacy through her own EQ Foundations approach — helping children understand and express their feelings with confidence.

Included in the session is a much loved tea party! ☕🍪 Tea and biscuits are provided as the children pause, connect and recharge before the day winds down.

💰 Cost: R220per session (2:30 to 4:30)

We'd love for your little one to join every week and get the full benefit of the programme, but we totally understand if you'd like to start with just a day or two!

What a fabulous holiday club we’ve had!🌸💛

This holiday club we explored so many magical themes: Teddy Bear Picnic, Rocking Robots, Super Safari, Bubbles & Balls, Seed & Bean Bonanza, Surf's Up, Sprinkle Party, Spectacular Sun Catchers, Fly Me to the Moon, and Fairy Forest Magic.✨

From teddy races and robot dances to animal treasure hunts, cupcake crafts, sun catchers, rocket ships, and fairy wands, our Poppy Seeds children dove into every activity with so much laughter, creativity, and joy.🎉

Seeing their imagination come to life is exactly why love grows here🌱❤️

Pyjama Party Break-Up Day🌼

The children had an absolute blast dancing the day away💃🏻and we were all very cosy in our pyjamas all day long 🧸

We sipped on hot chocolate and enjoyed it outside, soaking in the warm Ballito sunshine.☕️ It was the perfect way to start the holidays!🌞

Wishing all our little ones a restful, playful, and pyjama-filled break 💛

Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dads! 💙

We got together and enjoyed a sunny day with all the fathers, creating great memories together. The children loved:
🌱 Painting the pot with their dads, then planting a little succulent to take home
✏️ Filling in “About My Dad” cards - the answers had us laughing and melting hearts
🍫 Baking chocolate muffins from scratch
🧽 Washing chairs and helping with all the preparations
🍪 Plus delicious snacks to keep everyone going!

Thank you to all the dads, grandads, father figures, and fatherly friends out there. We see you and appreciate you. The love, patience, and time you give don’t go unnoticed 💛
