Our educare programme is designed to promote the physical social, emotional, intellectual and language development of each child. We have created an environment that is warm and caring, wherein children are able to learn through active exploration and interactions with adults, other
children and materials. Field trips based on these themes are undertaken regularly to enrich the learning experience. Trips are made to the public library, bird and reptile sanctuaries, garden nurseries, parks, exhibitions, etc. We prepare your children for their transition to Grade R. Bi-annual progress reports are issued enabling you to monitor your child’s progress. In addition to the education of your child, we promote social skills, confidence, independence, self expression and communication through music and play. We recognise that individual children have their own pattern of development hence we organise experiences for them that are appropriate to their developmental needs, interest and learning styles. During play, children are encouraged to exercise free choice in selecting activities. This play is monitored by observation, questions are asked, suggestions made and at times more complex materials or ideas are added in order to enhance the teachable moment. We at Bright House see ourselves as part of the wider community. We involve community members – dentists, firemen, nurses, policemen, etc in our educare programme.
