Cricket news!

In our very first game against Port Natal, our team stepped up to the crease and batted first. After a thrilling 20 overs, we posted a total of 67/10 on the scoreboard. It was a challenging but valuable experience for our young cricket enthusiasts.

What makes this game even more special is the remarkable performance of our team. In just 8 overs, we managed to secure the victory with 9 wickets in hand. It's a true testament to the dedication and hard work of our students and coaches.

This victory is a source of immense pride for Amanzimtoti High School. We believe in nurturing not only academic excellence but also the spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination. Our students have truly shown their mettle on the cricket field, and we couldn't be prouder.

We're thrilled to share the incredible achievements of our talented learners, Erin Meumann from grade 11 and Nadine Smit from grade 8, at the MOVE National Dance Competition in Cape Town from September 29th to October 1st. πŸ’ƒβœ¨

Erin and Nadine, along with their contemporary group, had previously secured first place in regionals, which was a remarkable accomplishment in itself. πŸ₯‡πŸ‘

Nadine also participated in a musical theater quartet, which clinched first place in regionals and qualified in the SILVER category for Nationals. 🎭πŸ₯‡

Over the weekend, learners went to Gauteng to watch Umkhosi Cup, which KZN school's soccer teams participated in.

We are so delighted to inform you about the sterling performance by AHS representatives (Lindo Manqele (U16), Ntando-Enhle Jwara and Luthando Gcabashe) in the KZN schools soccer squad, especially Ntando and Luthando at Umkhosi Cup tournament.

The two were in the KZN U19 B-team which was crowned champions of the tournament, beating the KZN U19 A-team in the finals.

They played with such courage and commitment and they both greatly contributed to the winning goals. Ntando scored 3 goals and Luthando scored 1.

They portrayed grit in their game that led to their team's glory.

We are very proud of them and how well they represented the school in this big tournament.

Tyne Van Achterbergh took part in the Seaharvest SA Juniors Surfing Championships in Jbay 4 to 8 October. He was selected to represent Ugu district at the event, earning his districts colours.

Tyne made it through to the semi final U16, placing 5th over all in SA. He is thrilled with his results.
