Quest Africa - Eastern Cape

Core Plus course for young men – February to November
3. 10 week Spring course – September to November - caters for both men and women. The concept was developed in Zimbabwe by people who had learned some hard lessons about the value of life and the importance of character and attitude in dealing with life’s challenges. The ability to survive and thrive in an uncertain world sometimes requires skills that are not learned at school or normal academic institutions. Quest fast-tracks the making of “fired-up” young people with energy, passion and purpose, balanced with strong principles and clear direction. The South African campus on an exceptionally beautiful location – the Kaba Game Farm, nestled between the Alexandria dune field and the SANParks forests of the Woody Cape in the Eastern Cape. The Quest program involves the training of a set of practical life skills encapsulated in 5 acumens:

Physical – physical fitness and range of adventure sports
Natural – wildlife management, hunting, guiding, farming and marine knowledge
Technical – workshop skills, welding, vehicle mechanics, building, plumbing, electrics
Social – public speaking, manners and etiquette, cooking, relationships, leadership training, strengths-based psychology coaching
Business – basic understanding and practical application of business principles, developing entrepreneurial mind-set. Have an experience that will be challenging and sometimes stressful, but ultimately deeply rewarding and life-changing
2. Establish solid foundations on which to build a productive, purposeful and enjoyable life
3. Attain a high level of physical and mental fitness
4. Acquire a wide range of practical and other life skills that will add to one’s usefulness and enjoyment of life
5. Develop character – integrity, humility, compassion, courage, determination, commitment, sense of humor, passion for life and for people
6. Become part of a growing network of Quest people (Important that Quest graduates are stamped with a certain quality that is more than the sum of the skills learned)
7. Elements of the course are challenging but the whole experience is enjoyable, exciting and fulfilling. All teaching is grounded in the Christian principles that are the foundations of good character – honesty, integrity, humility, selflessness, service, faithfulness, courage and commitment.
