Freedom means more than a moment in history. It means every child has the right to learn, play, and thrive.

Why are gross motor skills so important in a child’s development?
Gross motor skills include all movements that involve large muscle groups – running, jumping, climbing, balancing, and changing body positions.
They form the foundation of a child’s healthy development, because many everyday abilities and learning skills depend on them.
Why are they so important?
🧠 They support brain development
Movement stimulates the nervous system and helps build stronger connections between the two hemispheres of the brain. This supports learning, attention, and the ability to process information.
⚖️ They build balance and postural control
Through activities like running, jumping, and climbing, children learn how to control their body in space. This helps them maintain good posture and prevents many postural problems.
💪 They strengthen muscles and core stability
Strong muscles of the abdomen, back, and pelvis create a stable base for the body. Without this stability, it is harder for a child to sit upright, write, draw, or perform precise hand movements.
🧩 They develop coordination and motor planning
Children learn how to plan movements, control their body, and adjust the strength and direction of movement.
✍️ They prepare the body for fine motor skills and school tasks
Before a child can write, draw, or cut with scissors, their body needs to be stable.
Strong body → stable shoulders → efficient hand function.
🧘 They help regulate emotions and improve focus
Movement helps children release tension, regulate their nervous system, and improve concentration. Children who move enough during the day are often calmer and better able to focus.
What parents should remember
Children need movement every day.
Running, jumping, climbing, swinging, and playing outside are not just fun — they are essential for healthy brain and body development.
✨ Movement first → then focus → then learning.

As the sun goes down on 2025, we reflect on a year filled with learning, growth, and meaningful moments.
Every child supported, every educator empowered, and every small step taken with care has reminded us why this work matters.
As a new year begins, we look ahead with hop, ready to continue nurturing curious minds, strong foundations, and environments where children can thrive.
Thank you for walking this journey with Bright Future.
Here’s to a new year of growth, intention, and purpose.
