Does prepared reading practice turn your house into a high-stress zone? 🙈

You don’t need to be a teacher to help your child feel confident reading out loud! Prepared reading isn’t just about getting the words right, it’s about pacing, posture, and public speaking confidence.

Here are 3 simple, low-stress hacks you can use at home to turn stumbles into success:

🚦 1. The "Traffic Light" Punctuation Trick.

Use highlighters directly on their practice text!
• Red Light (Full Stops): Stop, take a breath, and count "1" in your head.
• Yellow Light (Commas): Pause briefly.
• Green Light (Text): Read smoothly.

🗣️ 2. Echo Reading (Model & Mimic).

Read a line or paragraph first with over-the-top expression, dramatic pauses, and character voices. Have your child "echo" you back to build rhythm and tone!
Posture dictates performance! Before practicing, check 3 things:
• Feet flat on the floor (reduces fidgeting).
• Book up at eye level (opens the throat).
• Pick 2–3 spots in the room to look up at after sentences.
