Today, we celebrate the wonderful teachers who pour their time, energy and hearts into making a difference in the lives of our learners every day. ❤️

Our teachers were treated to a lovely surprise today, with pizza to enjoy together and the sweetest little gifts — a thoughtful reminder that all their hard work is seen and appreciated. 🍕🎁

Liewe New Redruth Academy-ouers,
Soos ons aan die einde van nog ’n kwartaal kom, wil ek graag ’n oomblik neem om eenvoudig dankie te sê.
Dankie vir julle ondersteuning, julle vertroue, julle geduld, julle begrip en dat julle deur die jaar langs ons gestaan het. Om ’n skool te bestuur is nie altyd maklik nie, en daar is baie uitdagings agter die skerms waarvan ouers nie altyd bewus is nie. Maar om te weet dat ons ouers het wat in ons glo, ons ondersteun en steeds saam met ons hierdie pad stap, beteken vir my meer as wat woorde kan beskryf.
Ek wil hê julle moet weet dat my deur altyd oop is vir julle. Indien daar ooit iets is wat julle graag wil bespreek, ’n bekommernis wat julle wil deel, of selfs net lus is om vir ’n koppie koffie te kom sit en gesels, moet julle asseblief weet dat julle altyd welkom is. Ek glo dat oop kommunikasie en samewerking uiters belangrik is, want uiteindelik wil ons almal dieselfde ding hê – die allerbeste vir julle kind.
Soos ons uitsien na die volgende kwartaal, is ek ongelooflik opgewonde oor wat voorlê. Daar is baie wonderlike dinge beplan, en ek sien daarna uit om te sien hoe ons skool aanhou groei, ontwikkel en ’n nóg sterker gemeenskap word.
Dankie dat julle ons met julle kosbaarste geskenk vertrou – julle kind.
Daar is geen groter verantwoordelikheid as om die geleentheid te kry om ’n kind op te voed, te lei, aan te moedig en te koester nie. Ons is bevoorreg om deel van hulle reis te wees en om hulle te sien groei, leer, ontdek wie hulle is en uiteindelik die beste weergawe van hulself te word.
Elke enkele kind by New Redruth Academy is vir my belangrik. Elke glimlag, elke prestasie, elke klein mylpaal en selfs die moeilike dae maak saak. Dit vul my hart met vreugde wanneer ek ons kinders gelukkig, selfversekerd en laggend sien – wanneer hulle eenvoudig net die geleentheid kry om kinders te wees en dit te geniet.
Ek glo sterk dat voordat ons ’n kind se verstand kan bereik, ons eers hulle hart moet bereik en wen. Wanneer ’n kind geliefd, veilig, gewaardeer en aanvaar voel, kan hulle leer, groei en floreer.
Dit is wat ek vir elke kind wil hê wat deur ons deure stap – om te weet dat hulle behoort, dat hulle saak maak, dat hulle in staat is om groot dinge te bereik en dat daar mense is wat in hulle glo.
Dankie dat julle ons toelaat om deel van julle gesin se reis te wees. Dankie dat julle ons vertrou, ons onderwysers ondersteun en glo in dit wat ons saam bou.
Ons bou nie net ’n skool nie; ons bou ’n gemeenskap, en elkeen van julle is ’n belangrike deel van daardie gemeenskap.
Ek sien ongelooflik baie uit na ’n opwindende volgende kwartaal, gevul met groei, lag, leer, nuwe herinneringe en baie redes om trots te wees op ons kinders.
Met ’n baie dankbare hart wil ek vir julle dankie sê dat julle deel is van die New Redruth Academy-familie.

Dear New Redruth Academy Parents,

As we come to the end of another term, I would like to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you for your support, your trust, your patience, your understanding, and for standing beside us throughout the year. Running a school is not always easy, and there are many challenges behind the scenes that parents may not always see, but knowing that we have parents who believe in us, support us and continue to walk this journey with us means more to me than I can put into words.

I want you to know that my door will always be open to you. If there is ever something you would like to discuss, a concern you would like to share, or even if you simply feel like sitting down for a cup of coffee and having a chat, please know that you are always welcome. I believe that open communication and working together are so important, because ultimately, we all want the same thing — the very best for your child.

As we look forward to next term, I am incredibly excited about what lies ahead. There are many wonderful things planned, and I look forward to seeing our school continue to grow, develop and become an even stronger community.

Thank you for entrusting us with your most precious gift — your child.

There is no greater responsibility than being given the opportunity to educate, guide, encourage and nurture a child. We are privileged to be part of their journey and to watch them grow, learn, discover who they are and become the very best version of themselves.

Every single child at New Redruth Academy is important to me. Every smile, every achievement, every little milestone and even the difficult days matter. It fills my heart with joy when I see our children happy, confident, laughing and simply enjoying being children.

I strongly believe that before we can reach a child's mind, we first have to reach and win their heart. When a child feels loved, safe, valued and accepted, they are able to learn, grow and flourish.

That is what I want for every child who walks through our doors — to know that they belong, that they matter, that they are capable, and that there are people who believe in them.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your family's journey. Thank you for trusting us, for supporting our teachers and for believing in what we are building together.

We are not just building a school; we are building a community, and every one of you is an important part of that community.

To My Staff

Dear New Redruth Team,

It is with a deep sense of gratitude and appreciation that I write to each and every one of you today.

First and foremost, I simply want to say THANK YOU.

Thank you for everything you do every single day. Thank you for always being willing to help, even when your own hands are already full. Thank you for being there for me, for one another, and most importantly, for our children.

Thank you for giving more than 100% every day. I know it is not always easy. I know there are days when we are tired, days when things don't go according to plan, and days when we wonder how we are going to get everything done. But somehow, you come back the next day and give it your best all over again.

We have laughed together. We have cried together. We have become frustrated together, disagreed with one another, and sometimes wondered what was going to happen next. But through it all, we have continued to move forward together.

And if I were given the opportunity to choose my team all over again, I would not choose a different team from the one we have.

Every single one of you is unique. Every one of you brings something special to New Redruth Academy. We are not all the same, and we don't need to be. It is our differences, our strengths, our personalities and our hearts that make us strong as a team.

Our work is about so much more than just a job. We work with children. We help shape young lives. We are there for them when they are learning, when they are struggling, when they are scared, when they are proud, and when they simply need someone to believe in them.

You give our children more than just knowledge. You give them love, guidance, boundaries, encouragement, support and memories that they will carry with them long after they leave our school.

I want each of you to know that I see you, and I appreciate you.

I see the extra hours.
I see the effort.
I see when you step in to help.
I see when you go the extra mile for a child.
I see when you are tired but keep going.
I see the love that you put into this school.

And for all of that, I am truly grateful.

New Redruth Academy is not just a building, classrooms and books. You are the heart of this school. Without you, it would never be the place it is today.

We still have a long road ahead of us. There will be challenges, difficult days, and probably many more moments where we will laugh and cry together. But I believe with all my heart that together, we can build something incredible.

We are not just going to build a school.

We are going to build the greatest school.

A school where children belong.
A school where staff support one another.
A school where every child is seen.
A school that we can all be proud of.

I am incredibly proud to walk this journey with each of you.

Aan my personeel

Liewe New Redruth-span,

Dit is met ’n diep gevoel van dankbaarheid en waardering dat ek vandag aan elkeen van julle skryf.

Eerstens wil ek net DANKIE sê.

Dankie vir alles wat julle elke dag doen. Dankie dat julle altyd bereid is om te help, selfs wanneer julle eie hande reeds vol is. Dankie dat julle daar is vir my, vir mekaar, en veral vir ons kinders.

Dankie dat julle elke dag meer as 100% gee. Ek weet dat dit nie altyd maklik is nie. Ek weet daar is dae wat ons moeg is, dae wat dinge nie volgens plan verloop nie, en dae wat ons wonder hoe ons alles gaan regkry. Maar tog kom julle elke dag terug en gee weer julle beste.

Ons het saam gelag. Ons het saam gehuil. Ons het soms gefrustreerd geraak, soms verskil van mekaar, en soms gewonder wat volgende gaan gebeur. Maar deur alles het ons aangehou.

En as ek vandag die geleentheid gekry het om weer ’n span te kies, sou ek nie ’n ander span kies as die een wat ons het nie.

Elkeen van julle is uniek. Elkeen van julle bring iets besonders na New Redruth Academy. Ons is nie almal dieselfde nie, en ons hoef ook nie te wees nie. Dit is juis ons verskille, ons sterk punte, ons persoonlikhede en ons harte wat ons as ’n span sterk maak.

Ons werk is soveel meer as net ’n job. Ons werk met kinders. Ons vorm jong lewens. Ons is daar vir hulle wanneer hulle leer, wanneer hulle sukkel, wanneer hulle bang is, wanneer hulle trots is en wanneer hulle iemand nodig het om in hulle te glo.

Julle gee vir hierdie kinders meer as net kennis. Julle gee hulle liefde, leiding, grense, aanmoediging, ondersteuning en herinneringe wat hulle nog lank ná hulle skooljare sal onthou.

Ek wil hê julle moet weet dat ek elkeen van julle raaksien en waardeer.

Ek sien die ekstra ure.
Ek sien die moeite.
Ek sien wanneer julle inspring om te help.
Ek sien wanneer julle ’n kind se dag probeer beter maak.
Ek sien wanneer julle moeg is, maar steeds aanhou.
Ek sien die liefde wat julle in hierdie skool sit.

En daarvoor is ek opreg dankbaar.

New Redruth Academy is nie net ’n gebou, klasse en boeke nie. Julle is die hart van hierdie skool. Sonder julle sou dit nooit die plek wees wat dit vandag is nie.

Ons het nog ’n lang pad om te stap. Daar gaan nog uitdagings wees, nog moeilike dae en waarskynlik nog baie dinge waaroor ons saam sal moet lag en huil. Maar ek glo met my hele hart dat ons saam iets ongeloofliks kan bou.

Ons gaan nie net ’n skool bou nie.

Ons gaan die grootste skool bou.

’n Skool waar kinders behoort.
’n Skool waar personeel mekaar ondersteun.
’n Skool waar elke kind gesien word.
’n Skool waarop ons almal trots kan wees.

Ek is ongelooflik trots om hierdie pad saam met julle te stap.

Dankie dat julle my ondersteun.
Dankie dat julle altyd bereid is om te help.
Dankie dat julle vir ons kinders omgee.
Dankie dat julle aanhou, selfs wanneer dit moeilik raak.
En dankie dat julle deel is van ons New Redruth-familie.

Mag ons aanhou om saam te groei, saam te leer, saam te lag, saam deur die moeilike tye te stap en saam groot dinge te bereik.

Ek sou julle vir geen ander span verruil nie.

Our Grade 12s arrived looking like absolute stars, dressed to impress and ready to celebrate this very special milestone. From the stunning dresses and sharp suits to the beautiful smiles and unforgettable moments — it was a night filled with glamour, laughter, memories and a whole lot of sparkle! ✨🥂

Celebrating Our Heritage! 🌍❤️

What a wonderful Heritage Day we had at school! Our children had so much fun celebrating the beautiful cultures and traditions that make each of us unique. 🥰

They came dressed in their beautiful heritage clothing, proudly showing off their cultures, and had the opportunity to taste delicious traditional foods from their friends’ different heritages. 🌍🍲

It was so special to see our children learning from one another, sharing their traditions, and discovering just how wonderfully diverse our school community is. ❤️

Different cultures, different traditions, but one beautiful school family. 🇿🇦✨

Thank you to all our parents for helping make the day so special and for sending such wonderful food and outfits with our children.
