๐ญ๐ค Mic Check... Camera Rolling! ๐ฌโจ
Last week in drama classes, we explored our next performance style: Acting with Equipment!
Our learners had the opportunity to learn how to perform confidently with a microphone and in front of a camera โ two skills that are very different from performing on stage. From microphone technique and voice projection to camera awareness and natural on-screen presence, there was plenty to discover. ๐
It was amazing to watch our performers adapt their skills and realise that every performance space has its own unique rules. Whether it's a stage, a microphone, or a camera lens, the goal remains the same: tell the story with confidence and authenticity.

๐ญโจ Polishing for the Big Stage โจ๐ญ
Last weekโs drama classes were all about preparation, focus, and putting in those extra touches before one of our biggest competitions of the year! ๐
Our learners worked incredibly hard polishing their pieces, refining every line, movement, expression, and moment. We took our rehearsals both inside and outside, making use of every opportunity to practise, build confidence, and perfect our performances. ๐ญ
There is something special about the week before a major competition... the excitement, the determination, and the teamwork as everyone strives to bring their very best to the stage.
We are so proud of the dedication our learners have shown and can't wait to see all their hard work shine in front of the adjudicators. ๐โจ
Break a leg, performers! ๐๐ญ

๐ Every great performance begins with a great storyโฆ ๐ญโจ
Last week in drama class, we explored our next performance style: Storytelling. Learners discovered how every memorable story is carefully built through exposition, rising action, crisis, climax, and denouement. The building blocks behind the magic we see on stage and screen. ๐
To make the lesson even more exciting, we played the video game Storyteller as our drama game ๐ฎ๐ . The game gives you the denouement of the story, and learners have to add scenes and characters to each section to make sure the ending sticks.

Last weekโs drama classes were once again filled with excitement as we continued recording competition performances. From camera confidence to polishing every little detail, our students are working incredibly hard to bring their absolute best to the stage this season.
We also explored our latest performance style lesson: Advertising ๐ข
Learners stepped into the world of catchy slogans, dramatic sales pitches, and over-the-top performances as they discovered just how much energy, creativity, and character goes into creating a memorable advertisement. Safe to sayโฆ we may have a few future marketers in our classes. ๐

๐ญ๐คซ Actions Speak Louder Than Words ๐คซ๐ญ
Last week we also explored the art of mime, where storytelling happens without saying a single word!
From exaggerated expressions to precise movements, our learners discovered how powerful the body can be in telling a story. It was amazing to see their creativity come alive as they communicated emotions, scenes, and ideas using only movement. ๐
No voices, no linesโฆ just pure performance magic! โจ

๐ฟ๐ญ Breathe In, Act Out ๐ญ๐ฟ
Last weekโs drama classes took a peaceful turn as we stepped outside for relaxation and breathing exercises. Surrounded by fresh air and open space, our learners focused on calming their minds, grounding their bodies, and connecting with the present moment. ๐ฑ
Relaxation is such an important part of performance, it helps build focus, control nerves, and allows creativity to flow more freely. And honestlyโฆ learning drama in the sunshine just makes it even more special! โ๏ธ
