The standard lengths (in meters) of poles in our industry are;
1.2, 1.5, 1.8, 2.1, 2.4, 2.7, 3.0, 3.6, 4.2, 4.8, 5.4 & 6.0.
Then you can choose between tapered or cylindrical poles. The tapered poles are in diameter classes that range from 50mm to 200mm.
Lets say you want a 2.4m class 3. That is just a quick way of saying you want a tapered pole that is 80-99mm in diameter on the thin end of the pole.
A cylindrical pole is the same diameter all the way through. They start at 50mm and go all the way up to 200mm. You get 75mm, 90mm, 100mm, 125mm, 150mm & 180mm in between.
That's not all. You have different Hazard classes for the various applications for poles. Indoor use is H2 application, H3 is outside, above ground, H4 is outside in the ground (Fence posts) & H5 is submerged in water.
