It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of "Mama Meggie", Megen Mathebula, on Friday 6 August 2026.
She was a dedicated, and long-serving member of staff who has accompanied our learners on the bus daily, since the opening of Tsakane Special School in 2014.
Your smile, patience and kind heart will be missed by learners, parents and staff alike.
As a school, we extend our heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the family during this time.
May your Soul Rest in Eternal Peace, Mama Meggie ππβοΈ

At the beginning of June Tsakane Special School had the privilege to host lecturers from the Inclusive Education Department of Unisa - The University of South Africa and colleagues from other schools. ππ©βπ«
They trained staff from 5 special schools in Mpumalanga in how to use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) with their learners and thus help give a voice to those who cannot speak. π¬ π€ π»π£
Staff from Estralita Special School, Silindokuhle Special School, Osizweni Special School, Thanduxolo Special School as well as Tsakane Special School attended the training. π π©βπ«
Everyone gained knowledge and practical experience in how to develop AAC systems, use them and support learners with complex communication needs. Thank you, UNISA! β¨οΈππ
