To Ms. Karen & the esteemed faculty of Haddah Valley Junior High,

Writing this feels like opening a time capsule! It’s hard to believe how many years have passed since I walked those halls — but what remains crystal clear is how deeply HVJH shaped the person I’ve become❤️

The lessons weren’t just in textbooks. They were in the values our teachers lived by, the resilience they modeled, and the belief they placed in us — even when we hadn’t yet learned to believe in ourselves.

From winning writing contests and national academic competitions during my time at HVJH to graduating with honors from medical school, every step of the journey has been built on the foundation that was laid here. The curiosity, discipline, and drive I carry today were first sparked within those classrooms.

Now, as a physician and general practitioner, I carry those early lessons with me — in how I listen to patients, how I navigate challenges, and how I stay grounded in compassion. Medicine may have come later, but the mindset? That started here.

To Ms. Karen, my first ever role model —
No words could truly capture how thankful I am. You were my lifesaver when the tides of life were high and unrelenting. Your love and belief in me became one of the loudest, most lasting forces in my journey. And to this day, I still carry that with me.

To the teachers and staff — thank you for being the quiet architects of our futures. You made more of a difference than you know.

& to HVJH — you gave me roots before I grew wings, & no matter where life takes me, those roots will always keep me grounded, & I’ll always be proud to carry your name as part of my story.❤️
