WEEK 10
In the nutshell, Trade finance services introduce a third party, such as a bank, and cover a range of finance products and services, such as a letter of credit or bank guarantee. Trade finance solutions reduce risks, such as currency fluctuations, political instability and issues of non-payment. The function of trade finance is to introduce a third-party to transactions to remove the payment risk and the supply risk. Trade finance provides the exporter with receivables or payment according to the agreement while the importer might be extended credit to fulfill the trade order. Their services include receivable finance, payable finance, letters of credit, asset-based lending, and term loans. Today banks can provide various trade finance facilities to help companies in their trading activities by giving various types of advances to importers. It will help the industry growth.
