في غياب ضغط عسكري وسياسي مستدام على مواقعهم الساحلية، يمكنهم التعامل مع السيطرة على باب المندب باعتبارها مصدرًا دائمًا للضغط السياسي، على غرار تعامل إيران مع مضيق هرمز.

لا يحتاج الحوثيون إلى أسطول بحري لوضع أحد أهم طرق التجارة العالمية تحت الضغط.

فسيطرتهم على أجزاء من الساحل الغربي والمرتفعات المطلة عليه، إلى جانب ما يمتلكونه من صواريخ ومسيّرات وألغام وزوارق غير مأهولة، تمنحهم قدرة على تهديد الملاحة في باب المندب من البر والبحر.

كيف تشكّلت هذه القدرة؟ وما علاقة توقف معركة الحديدة بها؟ ومن سيتحمل الكلفة الأكبر إذا تحول التهديد إلى حملة بحرية طويلة؟

يقول ماجد المذحجي، مؤسس مشارك ورئيس مركز صنعاء، في مقابلة مطولة مع مجلة «L’Express» الفرنسية، إن الحوثيين يمتلكون القدرة على تعطيل الملاحة، وإن استمرار الوضع الحالي قد يرسّخ نموذجا تصبح فيه السيطرة على الممرات البحرية وسيلة للحصول على مكاسب سياسية واستراتيجية.

ويشير في المقابلة إلى تعمّق التنسيق بين الحوثيين وإيران، وقدرات الجماعة البحرية، وانعكاسات أي تصعيد في باب المندب على دول الخليج والصين والاقتصاد العالمي.

Sana'a Center Researcher Adel Dashela spoke to Al Jazeera English about the latest escalation in Marib and Hadramout, warning that the risk of a wider ground war is growing.

He said Marib, particularly its oil and gas areas, could become a key focus of any coming confrontation, and that a full-scale war across multiple fronts would likely be far bloodier than previous rounds of fighting.

لماذا قد نشهد تصعيدا غير مسبوق قريبا؟

في حديث سابق لمجلة فورين بوليسي "Foreign Policy"، قال ماجد المذحجي، مؤسس مشارك ورئيس مركز صنعاء، إننا قد نشهد قريبا تصعيدا غير مسبوق في ظل غياب جهود الوساطة الخليجية والأممية، وإن الخطر لا يقتصر على مواجهة بين السعودية والحوثيين، بل يشمل احتمال تحوّل اليمن مجددا إلى جبهة في المواجهة الإقليمية الأوسع.

وفي قراءته لميزان القوى، يقول إن الحوثيين ومحور المقاومة يعتقدون أن ميزان القوى تحوّل لصالحهم بدرجة لم نشهدها من قبل، ولذلك يتحركون نحو فرض قواعد جديدة، إذا رأوا أن التوقيت ملائم.

Our Chairperson Maged Al-Madhajispoke with L’Express about the growing importance of Bab al-Mandab and the deepening coordination between the Houthis and Iran.

He warned that the Houthis’ maritime capabilities now go beyond temporary disruption. Their control of parts of Yemen’s western coast, together with missiles, drones, naval mines, and fast boats, gives them the ability to turn the strait into a lasting source of regional pressure.

Maged said the Houthis could begin using Bab al-Mandab in the same way Iran uses the Strait of Hormuz: as a permanent political and military lever.

يقول ماجد المذحجي، مؤسس مشارك ورئيس مركز صنعاء، لهيئة الإذاعة النرويجية (NRK)، إن العمليات في البحر الأحمر تجري تحت مراقبة عملياتية واسعة من الحرس الثوري الإيراني، مشيرا إلى اختلاف التعامل مع السفن الصينية مقارنة بالسفن المرتبطة بالولايات المتحدة أو إسرائيل.

وبحسب المذحجي، فإن تحديد السفن التي يُسمح لها بالمرور يكشف الكثير عن الجهة التي تختار الأهداف.
