I just love sound buttons. They can be used right alongside affixes and help so many children who are struggling with grapheme-phoneme correspondences. Please share!

So perhaps reading and writing are an evolutionarily overspecialisation that my brain just happens not to cope well with. I can’t sing either, but that hasn’t been as big an issue as the dyslexia. Perhaps I should just be thankful that beautiful singing didn’t become the evolutionary be all and end all, and that spell checks were invented at just the right time.

It turns out some theories suggest that many times what we now call a disorder used to be an awesome advantage.

If you have/teach a dyslexic child in primary school please take a minute to look at this and give feedback. If I can improve it this font may just make literacy a little easier for children with dyslexia. And it is totally free for everyone to use!

Finally got my font up and running. It is free to download and can be installed on Windows and iOS (non-commercial use) just like any other font. It meets all the BDA guidelines for dyslexic friendly fonts.... and it is FREE!

This is so true! The rhyming word...you have to be able to 'read' a word to know if you know a rhyming word! or do they mean a word with the same letters at the end of a word, like bread, head and bead or give, live and hive? NOT a strategy.
