Chartered Accountants Day Celebrated with Grandeur in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 1, 2025 – The Kashmir CPE Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated the 77th Chartered Accountants Day with great enthusiasm at the ICAI Srinagar Representative Office.

The event commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony, followed by a plantation drive symbolizing growth and sustainability.

A special highlight of the program was a celebration meet of members, during which CA Bashir Ahmad Lone addressed the audience. In his address, he spoke about the evolving role of Chartered Accountants and the importance of upholding professional ethics and contributing meaningfully to society. Many other members also shared their thoughts and experiences about the profession, reflecting on its challenges and opportunities.

CA Khateeb Yousuf, Convenor of the Kashmir CPE Chapter, delivered a warm welcome address, setting the tone for the day’s proceedings. The event concluded with a vote of thanks presented by CA Mujtaba Joo, Deputy Convenor of the Kashmir CPE Chapter.

The smooth ex*****on of the event was ensured by Mr. Mueed Latif, Officer In-charge of the Srinagar Representative Office.

This celebration not only marked 77 years of the chartered accountancy profession in India but also highlighted the significant contributions of Chartered Accountants to the business and financial sectors of Jammu and Kashmir.

Chartered Accountants Day Celebrated with Grandeur in Srinagar

Srinagar, July 1, 2024 - The Kashmir CPE Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) celebrated the 76th Chartered Accountants Day with great enthusiasm at the ICAI Srinagar Representative Office.

The event commenced with a flag hoisting ceremony, followed by a plantation drive, symbolizing growth and sustainability. In a show of social responsibility, a blood donation camp was also organized as part of the celebrations.

The Honorable Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir extended warm greetings to the chartered accountants on this special occasion, recognizing their vital role in the economic landscape of the region.

A highlight of the event was the felicitation of members who qualified as Chartered Accountants from May 2020 onwards, acknowledging their achievements and welcoming them to the profession. The chapter also honored CA Fayaz Ahmad Ganai, who recently took charge as the Chief Financial Officer of The Jammu and Kashmir Bank.

Dear Friends,

The Kashmir CPE Chapter of ICAI is organizing a blood donation drive to commemorate CA Day on 1st July 2024. We invite you all to join us in this noble cause and make a significant impact on the lives of those in need.

CPE HOURS REQUIREMENTS FOR THE BLOCK PERIOD OF 3 YEARS (1-1-2017 TO 31.12.2019) TO BE COMPLIED WITH BY DIFFERENT CATEGORIES OF MEMBERS

All the members (aged less than 60 years) who are holding Certificate of Practice (except all those members who are residing abroad) are required to:
Complete at least 120 CPE credit hours in a rolling period of three-years.
Complete minimum 20 CPE credit hours of structured learning in each calendar year.
Balance 60 CPE credit hours (minimum 20 CPE credit hours in each calendar year) can be completed either through Structured or Unstructured learning (as per Member’s choice).
All the members (aged less than 60 years) who are not holding Certificate of Practice; and all the members who are residing abroad (whether holding Certificate of Practice or not) are required to:
Complete at least 60 CPE credit hours either structured or unstructured learning (as per Member’s choice) in rolling period of three-years
Complete minimum 15 CPE credit hours of either structured or unstructured learning (as per member’s choice) in each calendar year.
All the members (aged 60 years & above) who are holding Certificate of Practice, are required to:
Complete at least an aggregate of 90 CPE credit hours of either Structured or Unstructured Learning (as per member’s choice) in a rolling period of three years
Complete minimum of 20 CPE credit hours being an aggregate of either Structured or Unstructured Learning (as per member’s choice) in each calendar year
The following class of members are exempted from CPE credit hours requirement:
All the members (aged 60 years and above) who are not holding Certificate of Practice.
Judges of Supreme Court, High Court, District Courts and Tribunal
Members of Parliament/MLAs/MLCs
Governors of States
Centre and State Civil Services
Entrepreneurs (owners of Business (manufacturing) organizations other than professional services)
Judicial officers
Members in Military Service
Temporary Exemptions:
Female members for one Calendar year on the grounds of pregnancy
Physically disabled members on case to case basis having permanent disability of not less than 40% and above (Supported with medical certificates from any doctor registered with Indian Medical Council with relevant specialisation as evidenced by Post Qualifications (M.D., M.S. etc.).
Members suffering from prolonged critical diseases/illnesses or other disability as may be specified or approved by the CPEC. (Supported with medical certificates from any doctor registered with Indian Medical Council with relevant specialisation as evidenced by Post Qualifications (M.D., M.S. etc.).
