Building Legacies and Lives at BCC
The Foundation of Brunswick Community College recently welcomed members of the St. James Service Club for a check presentation supporting the Christine Corrigan Trades Scholarship Endowment. Established through the generosity of the St. James Service Club and named in memory of Christine Corrigan, the scholarship honors her legacy while helping students build bright futures.

The scholarship is available to Brunswick County students pursuing careers in the skilled trades, including both graduating high school seniors and adult learners returning to education. Recipients must be enrolled in programs that provide specialized skills training and hands-on experience, with the goal of helping strengthen Brunswick County's workforce.

Following the presentation, club members toured BCC's Welding Technology lab, where they saw firsthand how students are developing the practical skills needed for rewarding careers in the trades.

Thank you, St. James Service Club, for your generosity and for contributed to student success at BCC.

Big moments and bright futures for BCC students.

BCC recently celebrated student success and community partnership during a special scholarship ceremony with State Employees’ Credit Union (SECU) Foundation.

Trudy Tryas and Caroline Ruth Bailey, recognized for their leadership, service, and commitment to others.

We also honored eight students receiving SECU Bridge to Career Scholarships:
Aziyah Bryant, Lizeth Campos, Brenda Gutierrez, Zion Hankins, Adamari Lopez, Melinda Ore, Maryory Rodriguez-Mejia, and Kathryn Williams.

To top it off, SECU presented an $18,000 check to support workforce training at BCC!

These investments are opening doors and helping students build meaningful, in-demand careers right here in our community.

What a meaningful investment in the future of healthcare.

The Leland Area Rotary Club has established a new scholarship, The Leland Area Rotary Award to a Promising Nursing Student, supporting a Brunswick Community College nursing graduate as they continue their education at a four-year institution.

The award provides $1,500 at the Nursing Pinning Ceremony on May 7, with an additional $1,500 awarded upon completion of year three.

We are grateful to Club President Bernard Janoson and the Leland Area Rotary Club for their commitment to helping BCC students take the next step in their journey.
