Ever let your kids plan an event? Not just provide a list of demands for their birthday party? It’s a skill set that’s needed all your life – not just for parties but for weekly meal planning / grocery shopping, school or work projects, home renos, travelling, starting a business and more. Think of it like project management without all the jargon (and meetings!).

In addition to other fun activities, our summer camps this year (1/2 day for kids going into grades 6 through 9 in September) will feature this opportunity every week. Possible activities I will be helping them through:

• Hosting a special family meal
• Starting a small business
• Building a backyard escape room
• Planning a family trip
• Hosting a bake sale

We’ll cover things like planning – content / schedule, resources needed, budget, pricing – how to follow through on the plan, and in some cases getting things up and running by week’s end.

Kids can work in groups or on their own, learning about responsibilities and teamwork.

I am very happy to announce that I’m running summer camps this year!

I am focusing on ½ day camps for a small age range because (a) many summer camps fail to properly serve this age range, lumping them in with younger kids or simply not challenging them and (b) it’s summer, let them sleep in but also have something (screen - free) to do for a good chunk of the day.

There will be the same great programming I’ve always offered (sewing, cooking, time, and money management) with a focus on bigger projects that will be planned out and worked on throughout the week. Each week will be different so multiple week sign ups are welcome!

Weeks Offered: Jul 8 – 12, Jul 15 – 19, Jul 29 – Aug 2, Aug 6 – 9 (short week, $200), Aug 12 – 16, Aug 19 – 23
