Lake Gardens Peoples Association Lake Gardens Peoples' Association was established way back in 1956. Every year,the Association organizes community pujas.

Lake Gardens People Association,initially known as Lake colonySociety in 1954 and later in 1956 as LakeGardens(Bangur Park)People’s Association,was finally changed to Lake Gardens People’s Association in 1967.The Association was registered under Societies Registration Act on 10th September,1956. All civic development in the ares-underground sewerage,water supply,asphalting of roads,railway station

etc-have been implemented after efforts initiated by the Association. The Association’s own building was constructed-on a land of 2kt 2ch(1530 sft)-in 1961 with the untiring efforts of Late P.R.Basu-an Andaman Cellular Jail returned political prisoner who had attempted to kill Sir Alfred Watson,the then editor of The Statesman,for formenting words and hatred against the young revolutionary in 1930-32. Later in 1972-73,th first floor of the building came up with the generous donation of Shri Anil Ranjan Dewanjee,and the hall-named Asim Dewanjee Memorial Hall after his dear departed son(who died at a very early age)-is used for cultural and religious activities. The hall in the ground floor,christened Lake Gardens Institute on 15th August 1963,has a library.
