🌟 Exciting Opportunity for Primary School Teachers in Cyprus! 🌟
We're thrilled to announce the "STEAM Together" initiative, a bicommunal project supported by the U.S. Embassy in Nicosia. This program is designed to bring together 10 Turkish Cypriot and 10 Greek Cypriot primary school teachers to foster unity and innovation in education through STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) training.
The project aims to enhance the quality of education across Cyprus and to build lasting connections between the two communities. STEAM Together will establish the first online, trilingual (Turkish, Greek, English) STEAM Academy in Cyprus, providing educators with resources, training, and collaborative opportunities to elevate their classrooms.
Program Benefits for Teachers:
International Certification in Robotics and Coding: Participants will complete a hands-on course and earn a globally recognized certification.
AI Tools Training: Teachers will engage in a practical certification program covering AI tools that can enhance lesson planning and classroom activities.
Advanced STEAM Kits: Each participant will receive cutting-edge STEAM kits to use in their classrooms, providing students with interactive and innovative learning experiences.
Who Can Apply? This opportunity is open to primary school teachers in Cyprus who:
Are passionate about STEAM education,
Have an adequate level of English, as the training will be conducted in English,
Currently work in a state school as primary educators,
Can attend the two-day training in full and commit to integrating the provided STEAM kits into their classrooms,
Will actively participate in our online bicommunal forum and join the planned May 2025 STEAM event.

Η έκδοση 3 του Meet Edison είναι σημαντικά αναβαθμισμένη σε σχέση με τα προηγούμενα μοντέλα. Συνδέεται μέσω USB με υπολογιστές και tablets (ασύρματα με iPad) και μπορεί να προγραμματιστεί με EdBlocks, EdScratch και EdPy (Python). Επίσης είναι συμβατό με LEGO. Η ευκολία στον προγραμματισμό του, το κάνουν ιδιαίτερα εύχρηστο για όλες τις ηλικίες (4+).

Αύριο, 12 Οκτωβρίου, στο Home for Cooperation, o Mert Balın, βραβευμένος με το Education Peace Award, θα παρουσιάσει τα ρομπότ και το πώς να τα προγραμματίσουμε, συμπεριλαμβανομένης της χρήσης τους για δημιουργία γεωμετρικών σχημάτων.

Alexia Alexandrou is one of the presenters at our teacher training event. She is an experienced primary school teacher and recognised as an EU CodeWeek Leading Teacher. She will present game-based activities that promote coding.

🌟 **Celebrating 4 Years of STEAM Collaboration in Cyprus!** 🌟

I am thrilled to share the incredible journey of our bicommunal STEAM education initiative in Cyprus. For the past four years, Alexandros Kofteros and I have dedicated ourselves to fostering unity and innovation through STEAM education across both sides of our beautiful island. 🌍

Together, we have been teaching kids, training teachers, organizing seminars, and offering bicommunal activities that bring Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots closer together. Our highlight event, the FIRST LEGO League, has become the island's only bicommunal event for students, where students, teachers, and parents from both communities come together in the spirit of collaboration and learning. 🤝

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to my dear friend and colleague, Alexandros Kofteros, for his unwavering support and friendship. Your dedication and passion inspire us all. 🙏
