What an unforgettable experience at Knights of Bushido

Thanks to the incredible organisational work that Jan Sykora and his team put into this event, everything came together beautifully.
The staff were warm and welcoming, the atmosphere was fantastic, and the beautiful theatre created the perfect setting for an event where martial arts and action movies came together.
For me, it was much more than an event. It was a journey back to my teenage years.
In the 80s and 90s, I spent countless hours watching martial arts films and action movies, fascinated by the movement, the fighters and the characters on screen. Keith Vitali in Revenge of the Ninja, Cynthia Rothrock in China O’Brien and so many others became part of the inspiration that fuelled my own martial arts journey.
And then came one of those moments that felt almost surreal: sitting in a beautiful theatre and watching No Retreat, No Surrender 3 on the big screen together with Keith Vitali and Keith William Strandberg , the very people connected to that movie.
More than four decades ago, I could never have imagined that one day I would be sitting beside these legends, watching that movie together.

It was also wonderful to see my good friend Shah Ismail again. Thank you, my friend, for the beautiful book written by Keith Strandberg.

I was also honoured to receive the “Martial Arts Royalty” Award. As a good friend said to me, you ‘earned’ this truly beautiful award — and surprisingly heavy for such a small statue!

Being able to share a small excerpt of my Wing Flow System and teach some amazing martial artists was another very special moment.

And sharing this entire experience with my wife made it even more meaningful. These are the moments and memories that become part of our journey together.

From a teenager watching fight scenes on television to standing in a theatre beside the people who inspired me…
