KILPARRIN SPORTS DAY!! Students, playgroup children, families, friends and staff had a wonderful time! The morning showcased inclusion, determination and joy, and was a beautiful reminder that sport is for everyone. Thank you to Lochie and Bella from SANFL for facilitating some footy fun. A gallant effort by parents in the hilarious inflatables race saw staff victorious in the end 🤣 Thank you Jess for coordinating such a memorable event 👏👏 ❤️💙💜💛💚🧡

Halloween at Kilparrin! Spooky fun and learning!

On Friday, our students took part in Halloween fun that included a parade, trick-or-treating, and a competitive costume contest! With families joining us, it was a joyful day filled with communication, belonging, and shared celebration.

Congratulations to our award recipients:
Scariest Costume went to Isaac for his frightening inmate back story
Funniest Costume was a tie for Leon with his dog-bite costume and Lindsey as the Ghost of the Music Ball.
Most Creative Award went to Tahliya for her amazing setup as “TJ the DJ”!

Beyond the fun, events like this help develop:
EYLF Outcomes – Identity, Community, Wellbeing & Communication
Expanded Core Curriculum Skills – Social interaction, self-advocacy, recreation & leisure, and communication in meaningful contexts
We used our Orientation and Mobility skills to navigate the school to trick-or-treat. We also made sure to adapt trick-or-treating so we had plenty of AAC all around to access!

Since it was also World Teacher's Day, we were treated to a visit from Stephen Patterson MP - Member for Morphett! He was lucky enough to be greeted by our Leadership: Marty McFly and an inmate.

We are so proud of our students for their confidence, creativity and participation — and grateful to our families for helping make the day magical!

2025 Book Week! This year’s theme was ‘Book an Adventure’. We dressed up, read lots or books and had lots of fun! A big thanks to families for your efforts and creativity with costumes, and to those who could come along to watch the parade 📚
