Hands-on Petrel Training: Building Integrated Subsurface Workflows

As subsurface workflows become increasingly data-driven, understanding how industry professionals organize, visualize, and interpret subsurface data has become an essential skill for future engineers and geoscientists.

SPE ITB SC proudly presents an exclusive onsite software training program in collaboration with SLB, featuring a hands-on introduction to Petrel and integrated subsurface workflows directly at SLB Office – Wisma Mulia, Jakarta.

Through this program, selected participants will gain exposure to:
• Fundamental Petrel workflows and interface navigation
• Integrated subsurface data visualization practices
• Industry-oriented workflow thinking and technical discipline
• Direct learning experience in a professional environment
• Networking opportunities with fellow future engineers
• Certificate & exclusive insights into subsurface industry workflows

[SPE Global Connect: SPE UM SC X SPE ITB SC]
From April 30th to May 1st, 2026, SPE Global Connect 🌍🤝 brought together SPE ITB SC and SPE UM SC for an insightful benchmarking and networking program held at Institut Teknologi Bandung. The event featured engaging discussions, benchmarking sessions, paper presentations, focus group discussions, and laboratory visits aimed at strengthening collaboration between both student chapters. Participants explored various topics related to the oil and gas industry, including energy transition, digitalization, HSE culture, and future workforce readiness. The program also included presentations from academic representatives and students discussing current research and the implementation of Artificial Intelligence in drilling operations. Through knowledge-sharing and cultural exchange activities, the event fostered stronger connections, academic collaboration, and meaningful experiences among future energy professionals from Indonesia and Malaysia.
