Please join us at our training sessions this year! Wednesday and Friday both at 5-7pm in H0.51. We're looking forward to seeing you!

The Warwick Debating Society is one of the largest, friendliest, and most successful debating institutions, both nationally and across Europe. Debating helps to improve your confidence, public speaking and critical thinking skills. Don’t worry if you have never done it before, our training sessions are designed to help you. The Society welcomes students of all backgrounds and experience levels, fr

om absolute novices to hardened veterans. Our members stem from different degree levels and disciplines, from undergraduate PPE and Maths freshers to postgraduate TeachFirsters and Engineers. Everyone is welcome to come along to our training sessions! You can join us at any time throughout the year and participate in several ways; you can speak in a debate, judge others debating, or even watch others debate until you build up your confidence to join in with us. Apart from our sessions we also take part in university competitions on most weekends, host our own Schools- and University-level competitions. We organise public debates through our affiliated society the Warwick Debating Union with world-class guest speakers and have a range of fun socials. Membership is only £3.99, and can be purchased on the Warwick SU website. Members enjoy full registration subsidy for competitions if they go to with the society, as well as a 50% travel subsidy. If you go to one competition you will have more than made your money back. Join our Facebook group to keep up to date with announcements for competitions and socials. Due to various clashes, SU regulations, and general administrative issues pertaining to the events, we have postponed our AGM and Elections to W9 Monday and Wednesday respectively.

📢 We are so excited to host our first Internal Competition of the year!! This is a great oppertunity to have a go at debating at a tournament hosted by our amazing exec team!

The competition will have 4 rounds and final and is a brilliant chance to practice soft skills, all the techniques you've learnt from training sessions but also if you're new to debating, it can be a great way to get involved and give the sport a go.

🚨🚨 Join us in the 12th of February in room A0.23 to see our amazing debaters discuss whether Trump's aggressive power projection is in the interests of the US.

We are so proud to bring you this event which will be full of interesting discussion and argumenation about the current political climate. If you want to learn more and have a fun afternoon watching a great debate come join us at 5pm!

This event is hosted by Warwick Model United Nations, Warwick Economics Society, Warwick Debating Society, Warwick History Society and Warwick PPE Society.

Introducing The Speaking Societies Ball!! Join us on March 10th at Warwick House for our spring themed ball, perfect for an evening in the new season. You can expect an evening of delicious food, great music, dancing and fun 🥳🥳

FINAL WEEK!! Join US for Christmas Dinner at Varsity on campus after training on Monday for some good food, nice chats and Christmas vibes! 🎄🎅

On Wednesday we will be hosting our FINAL TRAINING SESSION OF 2025!! Come along for some fun Christmas themed games and motions, little treats and a goodbye from the exec!!
