The Puget Sound Civil War Roundtable will be celebrating its 40th anniversary on Friday, October 10. Our anniversary dinner and meeting will be held at Angelo's Restaurant, 601 SW 153rd Street in Burien, from 6:00 to 8:30 pm. PSCWRT member and Emeritus Professor of History Robert May will be discussing his latest book, Debunking the Yule Log Myth: The Disturbing History of a Plantation Legend.

The dinner will be "no-host." Participants will be able to order off the Angelo's menu.

So that we can give the restaurant a count of guests, please email Rick Solomon at [email protected] if you intend to come to the event.

collection of letters written by or to William Curley, of Osage County, Missouri in 1862. Curley mustered into Co. D of the 33rd Regiment of the Missouri Volunteers at Benton Barracks in August of 1862. The Captain of his Regiment was Captain McKee, and his Commanding General was General Schofield. There wree no active involvements with th enemy during the time of the letters. Topics discussed in the letters include enrollment bonuses, health of the troops, Curley's shoulder pain and ineptness of the company surgeon to help him, and a rebel raid on a supply wagon train.
