INTROVERTS VS. EXTROVERTS | Did You Know:

The third week of March (this week) is set aside for National Week. The week confronts the stigma associated with introversion. It also celebrates the inherent strengths and qualities that make introverts such a dynamic and successful part of our world.

Research shows that modern life seems geared to benefit the EXTROVERT --- Rewards seem to flow more readily to those who embrace social interaction.

But, what many people don’t realize, however, is that introverts CAN and DO achieve fantastic success.

“I think we need to help people step into their strengths, As we live in a world built around the extroverted ideal, we want introverts to be able to harness skills that come naturally to extroverts – such as networking, or being the first to speak...
As the diversity, equity, and inclusion wave widens and deepens its reach, introversion is becoming a natural part of that movement. Despite the fact that half the population identifies as introverts, traditional workplace cultures are still geared toward rewarding extroverts, ultimately limiting their collective potential." - Jennifer Kahnweiler

So you're wondering how to observe ?

INTROVERTS, commit to discovering the secrets of introverted leadership, business, networking, sales, presenting, parenting, whatever speaks to your interests and goals. Master the strategies of other successful introverts who are leaders in that field. GET CREATIVE AND AMPLIFY YOUR GIFTS!

EXTROVERTS, spend some time identifying the introverts in your professional and personal life. Ask yourself— Are they being encouraged to embrace life as an introvert, or forced to bend themselves to fit an extroverted mold? Suggest new training and reading material to your company’s DEI & HR department, your children’s school, or your association or conference organizer’s learning and development committee.

Which type most closely describes your personality? We want to hear from you in the comments 👇👇👇

We've had the pleasure of working with a variety of clients and we've noticed a bit of a theme...

Some professionals are literally just WINGING IT.

That's right -- We said it. WINGING IT. Doing their best nonetheless, but lacking the expertise and skills to get the job done effectively in a way that ensures lasting success.

This is not a judgment or a criticism ... it's just an observation.

Here's the thing, it doesn't have to be this way. Adding structure and direction to your strategy could be as simple as:

1. Hiring a Master DEI Coach to provide insight and tangible resources

2. Assembling a DEI committee within your organization

3. Partnering with your HR department to ensure equity, education, and belonging are frontrunners within your talent strategy

4. Developing a true commitment to DEI expertise -i.e. GET CERTIFIED!

Our certification program, "The Art & Science of DEI" launches this month and we have a few spaces left. Enroll now, thank us later.

Listen Up: As a , vulnerability and transparency CAN BE superpowers. *cue superhero theme song*

As Leaders, your goal should NOT be to diminish or hide your insights or gut feelings about the path toward systemic change. Your goal is to create real, highly informed, data-driven, change by taking the charge as the in your industry.

"A leader who operates transparently rather than behind closed doors. A leader who is culturally agile, not tied to their own worldview. A leader who is able to fully embrace and leverage the vast diversity of today’s workforces. A leader who can create a safe space, regardless of what is happening externally, where people feel accepted and empowered to give the best of their talents." - Korn Ferry, The 5 Disciplines of Inclusive Leaders

Being focused on pretending to HAVE IT ALL TOGETHER keeps you from focusing on what is REALLY important. Your networks and colleagues can benefit from your openness. Give and a shot and witness how transformation can be achieved in more ways than one.

As the week comes to a strong close, we're sharing a few things you don’t need to justify this as you prepare to LOG-OFF:

~ Spending an extra 30 mins at the gym or binge-watching the latest comedic standup on your favorite platform, because we could all use a big helping of this weekend.

~ Playing this meditation mixtape by Shelah Marie on repeat between now and your first zoom meeting on Monday. >>> https://open.spotify.com/album/3Fm01zC9lox7X0NP05bdbf

~Prioritizing goals that are so major your friends and family don't understand. We're talking head-wraps, coconut oil treatments, face masks, scalp massages, hot herbal teas, and DND! After all the boss moves we've made this week, we deseerrrrve. And should you fancy supporting a owned family biz this , Golde face masks and smoothie boosters can be found at your local Target, or online.

What would you add to this self-care list?

This is your reminder that you *DON'T* need to spend all your time and resources implementing strategies alone.

In fact, the best DEI strategies thrive when you incorporate executive support, mentorship, strategic partnership, and a like-minded network of folx rooting for you, checking in when necessary.

How often have you struggled with the Who, When, Why, and How, of your DEI strategy?

If you answered "ummm…., all the time!" then this is your reminder that there are other options!

Doing this work solo is NOT the way. We Promise.

With over two decades of experience leading organizational change, we know firsthand the many unique challenges diversity champions face. Our goal is to support those who dare to realize equity in their organizations and the world.

We’ve got your back.

Want to know more about how can support you and your efforts? Shoot us a DM– We’d love to help.
