A knowledge centre comprising of sophisticated instrumentation facility, instructor-led classroom teaching and technology-enhanced learning techniques, first of this kind among the universities in Kerala, has been instituted in the campus of MG University The centre functions with complete academic and administrative autonomy and operates through a single-window system under the university. The go

verning council is constituted with persons of national stature to prevent the centre from falling prey to parochial sentiments. The Centre at a glance:-

• The curricular details, instrumentation facility and the inter-disciplinary centre are complementary and constitute the knowledge centre. Learning, knowledge creation and updating of curriculum and course structure are part of the centre’s activities
• Empowerment of basic science education.
• Training programs for thematic and purposeful learning and research.
• Direct participation of the students in the operation and maintenance of the instrumentation facility and laboratory.
• Self evolving and auto catalytic mechanism of generation of knowledge and exploitation by the same system.
• Identifying the challenges and thrust areas, priorities of knowledge and tuning the learning process accordingly.
• Curriculum is linked with skill generation.
• The centre acts as a facilitator and catalyst for joint programs between different institutions of higher learning and research.
• The involvement of students in the day-to-day functioning of the centre makes them more responsible and self-dependent.
• The functioning of the centre is monitored and governed by eminent experts from outside the University.
• The centre assesses the state-of-the-art laboratories of all the subjects it is concerned with, and continuously updates the knowledge base in line with international trends. Since new knowledge is the basis of intellectual property, training and management of IPR is part-and-parcel of the curriculum.
• Adjunct faculty and visiting scholars are the core faculty for conducting academic programs.
• Stipend for students
• Trainee scientists (B.Sc./M.Sc./PhD) are the major work force.
• Skill generation is continuous.

Registration for EquChem 2020 online workshop This is a new venture to help students at IIRBS and chemistry college students (if any are interested) to learn chemistry via an online workshop. This workshop aims to equip them to learn relevant topics in modern chemistry which should motivate them to pursue a research career. Lectures will be given by alumni from IIRBS who are currently doing research. In order to help us to plan this event please fill in this form. The tentative plan is to start the workshop on 6th July 2020.
